Thanks for posting this. Just ordered one of these and this video is one of the only videos that features the PRO version of the APC 223. Please keep posting more. Maybe a complete field strip and cleaning vid? Or maybe talk about toes of ammo that this rifle likes best!

Thank you for your comment, and I'm thrilled to hear that the video was helpful for you. By 'complete field strip and cleaning,' I assume you're interested in a more in-depth look at disassembly and a step-by-step guide on how to clean the APC 223. I've already covered the field strip, but I can certainly create a separate video focusing on the cleaning process. As for discussing the types of ammo that work best with this rifle, that's a great idea! I'll plan to make a video on that topic in the coming spring. Unfortunately, my go-to range is closed during the winter, so I'll have to wait for the weather to improve (spring). Thanks for your support!

Thanks for posting! I recently acquired the 8.7 inch APC223 pistol now fully SBRed, I’m most likely going to get the foldable charging handles.

I felt the same way. Even today I like to watch its videos. This was also a reason why I decided to make videos about it myself.

did Hans gruezi also make the stgw 90 disassembly video that begins with the camera lens panning up and down the service rifle to the soundtrack of the swiss national anthem?

No, I did not make that video :-)

Just picked one up! But do you know if there's any way of removing the handguard? The person who I bought it from had it in a MOIST area and surface rust got on the barrel lol nice video!
@gruezihans Жыл бұрын
Congratulations on your purchase and have fun with the rifle! To remove the handguard on the Pro models, two screws must be removed: on the upper and lower edge. The gas system must also be removed (as described in the video). Then the handguard can be pulled forward to the barrel. Caution: it is quite tight. Are you sure it's rust? I'm pretty sure it's just dirt from the gas system that has settled on the barrel. Nothing to worry about. Are you sure it's rust? Can you advise how to remove the barrel. I can’t find the information anywhere

You get it directly by B&T ? How did you do ?
@gruezihans Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. I live in Switzerland and order through the B&T flagship store or another distributor. Did I understand your question correctly?

Amazing video!! Just a question. Are you supposed to use solvent cleaner on the bolt head? Heard you aren’t supposed to get any near the firing pin. Also are you able to lube up the gas system and the regulator? Thank you very much!
@gruezihans3 ай бұрын
Thank you! Actually, you should lightly oil the bolt head, but make sure the firing pin stays dry. For the gas system, I do oil it when cleaning but then wipe off the oil with a cloth afterward-no solvent needed. Hope that clears things up!
@hudthestud67583 ай бұрын
@@gruezihans Perfect that helps so much! But can I also choose to use CLP or would you solely recommend using oil for metal on metal contact and solvent for the rest ? how do you avoid getting the firing pin getting wet ? And one more thing do you like to lube and wipe everything down when it comes right out of the box? So sorry for all these questions but I just want to be as informed as possible.
@gruezihans3 ай бұрын
@@hudthestud6758 No problem, happy to help! You can definitely use CLP-it's a great all-in-one option. Personally, I prefer using oil for metal-on-metal contact and solvent elsewhere, but everyone does it their way. In the Swiss military, they actually use grease instead of oil, and that works too! To keep the firing pin dry, just apply oil carefully and use a cloth to wipe around it. As for new rifles, I do a light wipe-down and oil the key parts, but again, it's all about what works best for you. Let me know if you have more questions!

How dose this recoil vs the 10”?
@gruezihans Жыл бұрын
Correct posture, standing or lying down, makes the biggest difference in my opinion. But the oil damper helps a lot. It is marginally stronger with the shorter barrel.

Do you have any idea if the 8.7 inch barreled version is free floated? Thanks.
@gruezihans9 ай бұрын
The Gen1 model lacks a free-floating barrel, while the PRO (Gen2) model features one. The rifle in the video is a Gen2! The APC223 Gen1 version comes equipped with a fully fluted barrel from the factory. However, in comparison, the PRO model is somewhat disappointing. It lacks the tight tolerances of the Gen1, resulting in a less smooth operation and noticeably increased felt recoil. Nevertheless, the free-float and gas block of the Pro are advantageous features. The Gen1 represents the pinnacle of B&T and Swiss manufacturing. It's just unfortunate that the same level of feel and smoothness wasn't carried over to the Pro model, despite its appealing features.
@Myk_drOp9 ай бұрын
@gruezihans thanks for your reply. So if I understand correctly, all barrel lengths of the gen 1 suffers from heat related issues due to the barrel not being free floated.

Thank you for the video. How is it to shoot this APC223 Pro? If you have to compair it with a SIG P90, is it as accurate? I have the APC 9 Pro and I love it, but not sure if the APC223 Pro is something I would enjoy as much. There are some mixed reviews about this system.

Thank you for your feedback. For a self-loading rifle with a 16-inch barrel, I achieve the same precision at 100m as the PE90 (20-inch!): virtually hole in hole. At 300m, the shorter barrel is noticeable. I'll be happy to make a video next time I'm at the range.
