Hi Chris, how much braided line did you put on 4000 model, did you use backing? I bought 4000XA and plan to put 0.185 mm (PE1.2) braided line but can't find info on how much I have to put. I have 300m of braided line, but not sure if I need to put backing or not.

I looked at my vids and this & didn't video the spooling part. I did mention that i spooled on 20lb braid on my 4K though. Obviously the 5K holds more yardage but not much more as the spool sizes are very closely sized. If you need more yardage then what i put on just spool slightly lighter braid (ie 10/12/14/15/17lb). I thought i'd like the 5K more but the 4K has it's place as well. Since i'm not fresh water i never opted for the smaller sizes.

@@ScubaChris Thanks for answer. I'm also saltwater guy :). I will use 4K for bluefish, sea bass and sarda sarda.

@@NeNozg The 4K will be ok as is. The 5K is only slightly larger but the line difference is noticeable. Look at the vids where they were side by side. I never targeted Sea Bass but i did Bluefish off Maine. Good scrappers! Always looking for lobster trap lines to get my lines tangled in. I'm just suggesting get the 5K instead. All my spinning rods that i use my 4K ISX on i now only use my 5K ISX. Weight & feel are great. Since i got my 5K i retired my 4K. It sits in my storage locker along with +90% of my reels now. If you plan on using mono it'll hold slightly more line than the 4K. Slightly as they're pretty close in size & weight (the spool size differs). I love these reels! Lightweight & strong. And when you do a 38mm Gomexus Power Knob that'll set it off. I set a WW trend doing this that i'm sure Okuma USA must've noticed. Because Gomexus US & WW keeps running out of 38mm black w/gold Power Knobs for Daiwa as i cracked that nut for both Okuma & Gomexus last year. At least Gomexus said thanks in free gear & discounts to help me along on other projects. Jack with sales & Vernon with Staffers will back me up on this. Got some new reels & other gifts from Gomexus. Okuma USA never raised a peep though. Other Okuma dealerships have copied my designs & they produced their own variants based off what i've done. I created a huge increase in sales for both companies so i'm doing my job. In fact i saved Okuma a lot just on the Rockaway SP rods alone when i discovered a design flaw which they corrected before distributing them. Saved them a lot of money & complaints (i was backed-up by a fishing magazine writer who was using the same products & suffered the way i did from what we found). Asked him not to print it so he didn't because i asked. I sent my rod back as instructed and asked for a replacement. It's been so long since they kept their work on anything w/me that i'm just so disappointed. Finally after i asked again recently they asked me what length & I said 10ft instead of the 8'6". At that time they didn't have any but for awhile they did recently but again i'm off on the sidelines watching. What i do now is to help the anglers out there. I've been paying for my own gear that i use. My own accessories. Repairs. Gas. Repairs. I help out all the fishing businesses but Okuma & Gomexus gets the lion's share of my reviews. They both know that & Gomexus has helped me by supplying accessories to help increase sales for Okuma. And years ago Gomexus asked Okuma for help so they could make accessories for their reels but they refused. So they came to me & over the years i've helped them both. I'm really sad to finally learn how these firms operate but i try my best to help the anglers. This is why i spend money out of my own pocket to purchase equipment just to do a requested video that my viewers asked for, than put it away in my storage locker forever. When Lahaina burnt down i lost friends there. I went down to Barbers Marina to stock a boat with coolers filled with reels to line & rods i no longer use from the 70's to now. Also boxes of rods. I put a card on each saying how we anglers from other localities feel for you & hope some of these items will help rebuild your life & dependency on the sea. Got a lot of TY's from that but just wanted to help. Sorry for rambling on. I now built up the largest fishing group in Hawaii on FB in a short time just to share fishing information.
