VIA has partnered with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to understand the myriad of ways character strengths serve people at times of crisis, pressure, conflict, stress, trauma, and life challenges.
We have found that the unique experiences of IOM-UN staff provide profound insight into the world of character strengths. We discuss how character strengths impact experiences that involve helping others and serving the world, and at the same time, this work poses substantial risks and challenges, requiring, at times, extraordinary strength.
