Wow, bro. That must have hurt. lol. Sorry. I've been playing my fingernails for 30 years now, and then they mostly just gave up. Age, you know, and so I had to find alternatives. The major revelation occurred when I first put on that thumbpick. You should hear my Malaguena now. But regardless of what I may think of this guy and his style, there is no doubt whatsoever that he lives and breathes music like just about nobody else, and that is to be admired.

Note he doesn't use the fret board for the top 4 strings - just saying.

you are right about that. I actually like concept of his 'song of the golden dragon' I play a hacked version of it myself because the effect actually works, people like it. But all his song use the same MO and never evolve beyond this one approach. He uses the same attack on the strings every time, the overuse the high low E bass and E minor scale on the high E strings (see 13:30) and his 'muting-solos' for theatrical effect with volume and tempo being the only source of light and shade. fuck it goes on for twenty minutes! He clearly has some technical ability, and as a nylon string convert myself, I would love to see it evolve.
