That's true. Many times your own intuition is better than listening to other people. This is especially true when people have a very narrow world view. It is best to surround yourself with people who you can learn from and they can learn from you too. This way, both people, both groups of people can benefit from one another in the long run. Business wise, the "suits" don't understand or care to understand how an artistic person views the world and how they make decisions. As long as the artists is not a metal drone to a corporate machine, then they are much more likely make decisions that will benefit both themselves and their fans long term. The business people only care about selling whatever it is right now. However, who is going to want that 1, 5, 10, 15, 20 years from now. In general, short term gains put a person on the losing end of things in life in the long term. I say all of this to say, if you are the smartest person in the room, then it is time to move on to another room. Ignorance is bliss. Too many people are content to be uneducated and indolent when they can became wiser but they choose not to. A narrow world view does not get anyone far in life.
