We share an uncommon similar interest. My undergraduate minor was English Literature. Among my studies I studied the poetry of American women, including Sylvia Plath. I’m a published poet, with a particular interest in the creative work of women, in their cultural complexities. I think of art as visual poetry.

She said 1:42 that the creation process is one in which you don't know what you're doing and you let the intuition guide you ...etc Watching the painters that sell on Etsy I came to the conclusion that they know what they are doing beside intuition of course . For example I watch a certain Etsy painter reproducing the same painting another 50 times for another 50 buyers and I watch that painting and the painting looks really good and is very dynamic . I expect that if that Etsy painter would work from intuition he won't be able to reproduce that painting but it seems he can do that with ease . What si more bizarre is that those Etsy painters prefer to reproduce their paintings instead of creating new ones continuously . Something fishy is going on . I'm a little scared or intimidated by a painter that paints excellent and after that loves to repeat the same painting over and over again . I don't even know how they do this ?. I like the idea that the creation process is one in which you don't know what you're doing and you let the intuition guide you but probably this is not the ultimate truth .

Louise, I appreciate your renderings of beauty based on your inspiration and “muse”. When I think of a miscarriage, 3 suicides, a homicide, torment and the resulting loss to us all in this world, I seek healing. Your art is the only work I’ve seen that is doing just that, healing the pain of loss of these souls lost to us, linking us to something bigger than us all while not minimizing anything about us.

So inspiring to hear you talk about the process of creating the book, and sharing your love of the poetry of Ted hughes through the paintings you created inspired by them. I have also loved his poetry too,but it will be wonderful to revisit his poems through your amazing paintings (have ordered a signed copy from your website). I can't wait to be able to settle down with your book and go on the journey you went on as an artist as I read through the book.Huges painted with words in a way few poets have,his use of language is extraordinary and creates a deep emotional resonance with a reader and I think your paintings resonate in the same way. It's always so inspiring to listen to you talk about your creative process in the insightful and engaging way that you have.Poetry and painting are a pefect paring and you really took it somewhere really astounding in the paintings you have created infused with the essence and spirit of the landscape that you love and that Hughes also loved so deeply. While watching a video of Australian artist Tara Axford (highly recommend everyone take a look at her work), a notification arrived for your video. So, I dropped everything, saved the video to my “Louise” file, then watched immediately. Because I was watching a video from a group where people experiment with making brushes from bundles of dried grass, twigs, branches, sticks, etc., I wondered if you’ve ever thought about painting with things like that? May have been another artist but I thought you said something once about making marks with a stick you picked up on one of your walks.

I just looked up the conversion rate which is a little over $41 versus 30 pounds UK. Then there would be shipping costs.
