I played professionally during the transition period to what it is today. I see guys getting ejected over shit that wouldn’t even be a foul at the start of my career in 01. Now I admit I was garbage and a bottom feeder for my 10 years at 360k a year lol but the league is soft and the “gather step rule” as currently defined in the rule book has ruined the purity of the game. I personally would be happy if they just went back to the old gather step rules called the “euro step” in every league in the world except the nba that limited the “gather step” to one step that must be done as part of a offensive move only in the direction of the goal. The nba “gather step” doesn’t specifically limit the number of steps, doesn’t have to be a offensive move nor does it limit the direction of the steps. You fix that by going to the standard set forth for every other professional league in the world and I would be a lot happier watching the nba now.

Bill Russell? Wilt is likely the best scorer and Russell slowed him down multiple times. Hes obviously gonna get MJ to less than 20ppg. Wilt was also a good blocker himself and averaged 8.8 bpg from recorded statlines.

@@jxkuzure Bill Russell was 7ft 215lbs. You're failing to acknowledge several factors. Whose rules are we playing by? If it is Bill and Wilt's era the game is called much differently than MJ's era or the modern era. You're also failing to acknowledge that the league size and talent pool during Bill and Wilt's era is much worse than it was during MJ's era and our modern era.

@@DustySticks Bill Russell was 6'10 (in Chuck Taylors)... The rules don't matter since none played in whats considered the "modern era." MJ's era also had the Bad Boy Pistons, so he was getting the same amount of physical contact as Wilt did. How am I failing to acknowledge league size when if MJ were placed in the 60's, he would go against Wilt and Russell multiple times? Sure the talent pool was worse, but there were multiple players ahead of their era. Oscar Robertson was basically MJ but less athletic, and other HOF players.

@@jxkuzure stat lines don't matter the older they are. Do you really think wilt would be that talented in today's game? Most people in his era couldn't jump as high as he could, weren't as athletic, weren't as strong, etc. It was during that magic and bird era where the nba grew more

@@jxkuzure who could really guard wilt? No one because their just wasn't any good defenders. Bill Russel was the one exception. Compare wilts competition to Jordan. Who had tougher competition?

He right mj getting DOMINATED in that era. Mj need SCOTTIE PIPPEN to get pass the first round. So let not even go there wilt Chamberlain and bill Russel were AMAZING ATHLETES and dominated there era. So idk why ya think a 6 6 200 pound is doing something against a guy. That avg 50 can run like the wind jump out the gym. 😅😅😅😅 bill got 11 championship so mj doing WHAT? Exactly
