Everyone struggles during these times, but I want to encourage everyone to work toward being debt free. Jobs are not promised, & being debt free really helps to relieve stress, & prevents marital problems. God teaches to be in debt makes you a slave to the loaner. No one wants to be a slave. God Bless you all with health & many blessings in 2021. ❤️

Nikki I quit buying bottled water. I was spending close to $1300 annually just on bottled water😳 I invested in a water filter system. My filters cost $30 annually. I was able to attack a debt looming over my head and I paid if off on Dec 29th. I started 2021 with 1 less debt. I'm proud of myself and it was just a simple lifestyle change. Cut out what I really didn't need to spend on. With all the apps out here I just like pen and paper, old fashioned it works best for me. Thanks for sharing this too. Its vital to see where your income is going 💕🌷

Excellent advice Nikki! Nothing beats the feeling of being debt free. I love how you encourage others to find ways to bring in money in order to make that happen. I cant wait to see the changes you made in your beautiful home. Happy New Year! 💛Robin

You and Jorge are very wise in communicating with the finances. Couples should know how much money it takes to run a household. In an event of an emergency or God forbid illness or death in one’s spouse. 42 years and my husband and I could never talked about finances or wills. But this has made me a stronger independent woman. Should I become a widow I know how to pay the bills. And finally Women you always need to have your “own” secret stash of money.

Your handwriting is beautiful! I bought a financial planner for this year but I like your system much better! We have been debt free and living like nobody else for years and now we are looking into our retirement investment forever home. After being in the tightwad seat for years it sure is hard to let go of the savings to make the plunge so I am working towards getting the funds by pinching down harder. It is scary to get to 55+ and use up the savings for a large purchase....... what if we get sick without insurance or a job (early retirement) is scary. Anyway I like your system so much better! Thanks Nikki even people that stayed on top of debt can learn from this.

My husband taught me about finances.......the important thing he taught me that I will never forget is this: there are two types of debt - positive and negative debt. Examples of positive debt is a home mortgage, or a special purpose loan, or a car loan because they build either equity or your credit score. Negative debt is like credit card debts and paying minimum balances, or skipping payments because it either forces you into paying higher interest rates or hurts your credit score......one of the best things he could have ever told me. It reminds me to never over spend with credit cards, and be very choosy about what I or we borrow for projects or purchases.

Happy New Year . My husband and I pay off our house. We have no car payments or credit cards. It’s work but it’s worth it in the long one. We are in our fifties so it feels good. I work in daycare in the morning and part time I will pet sit in our community. He is a contractor.

Happy New Year everyone I am in my 3rd yr of retirement and being debit free. I didn't retire until I paid off all my debit. It's the best feeling and I wish I would have done it earlier. I still keep a budget for expenses that are always going to be there for example insurance cable etc and I still save every month. Please try it for yourself it is such a relief it changes your whole life be patience thats important. Be safe Blessing

My husband and I have no debt other than our house. And we paid off just over half our house. We created a budget but don't really follow it. But after watching some dave ramsay clips I think I might suggest trying a budget again and seeing if we can pay off the rest of the house quickly.😄
@TheLadyoftheHouse3 жыл бұрын
That’s such a good idea, as Dave says, the grass just feels better when you own it. His total money makeover book changed our life, love him! That’s exciting you are so close to paying off your mortgage, congratulations!
@Mmolesy3 жыл бұрын
@@TheLadyoftheHouse it is incredibly exciting to see the numbers go down on the mortgage. Although our repayments took a hit during covid. So we at least paid the minimum. But work has just started back up for my husband. It's not full blast yet but it's steady. So hopefully we can start paying extra again really soon. The first house we owned we almost paid it off. The second one we used the equity from the first home to buy the second. Some of dave's lingo is a bit foreign to me as I'm in Australia. But I love what I hear and I love his humor. I can't wait to knock out the last of the mortgage though! 😄
@TheLadyoftheHouse3 жыл бұрын
@@Mmolesy I agree, I think going through this has helped open the eyes of so many to prioritize what’s really important and where we would all like to be financially so as not to feel that squeeze if something were to happen again. He does have a great sense of humor!

A 35 minute ad...seriously, KZbin? My biggest fluctuating amount is food. For the next two weeks, my two Granddaughters will be totally virtual instead of hybrid at school. So, that means no free breakfasts or lunches at school for the two days they were getting it. This, after the two week Christmas break, so I can't predict what I'm going to spend for the month. Definitely been trying to pay down debt for the last couple of years, but for me, it's tough to decide which thing to tackle first. Looking forward to seeing what changes or challenges you and Jorge are going to tackle for 2021.
