Great breakdown on the work of Bruce Timm. I've been a fan for a long time and what caught my eye in the preview column was the Batman sketch at 11:40, I own the original. So great to see it used in your video.

I am inspired by Bruce timms artstyle I’ve even come up with my own cartoonish artstyle (drawing women and men) I love how Bruce timm draws women particularly. Good video 👍

This is so weird I’ve been doing a lot of Simpsons characters I got super into it then some how I recently gotten into drawing Bruce Timms stuff! 2 of my favorite worlds into one thank you 🙏
@LuisEscobar Жыл бұрын
Ha ha ha, I'm glad I was able to marry those two worlds for you. My buddy Tommy Tejeda, who's a character layout artist, character designer and assistant director on The Simpsons, took some years away from the show to work with Bruce Timm on Superman Adventures, Justice League, JL Unlimited, and Batman Beyond. So there's another Simpsons/Bruce Timm connection.

Not even done yet and this video is already SO informative. Thank you for making this. I’ve never heard of C curves and S curves , amazing that Bruce built his whole style around this concept

Thank you for this! I'm trying to clean up my bruce timm style drawings and I just completely got off course by trying to be too detailed on the anatomy. It's so simple but I tend to overthink it! You reminded me about the importance of simple curves and straight lines method and now I'm back on track and I havent even seen the whole video yet! Thank you again!

what anatomical proportion is used to draw women in the style of Bruce Timm
@LuisEscobar2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. Here's the answer, hopefully you can understand it: The anatomical proportion used to draw women in this style is, it's own. In animation, every style has it's own proportions unique to it's style. The job of the artist is to apply their favorite proportion measuring method, modify it and apply it to the style. And even then, the proportions aren't universal and vary from character to character. This is why anatomical proportion formulas should never be viewed as dogmatic absolutes but rather tools that may help get you the results you want. And if they don't, you set them aside and use a different set of proportional tools that do. I recorded a video where I deconstruct a style in order to be able to draw a character. This MIGHT be helpful in illustrating what I mean: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWnKhnqOeJd4nqc I hope this answers your question.
