Another thing I’d like to add to the signs of affection is listening. Like listening to everything you say intently and remembering it when they have to. Some people just aren’t comfortable or show their affection with the others (like me) and we prefer to just make sure that the person feels heard and understood.

Points from "Gift Giving" made me feel bad that I don't like gifts, but "Love Languages for Friends" really washed away that badness. Just because I'm bad at gifts and don't really like them doesn't make me a bad friend. I still try to get gifts for people I know will like them, but I'm never good at it. But just because I can't get good gifts doesn't mean I can't show my love for friends. I hang out with them whenever I can, I love giving hugs, and I enjoy telling people what I love about them.

Empathy is the most useful when it comes to avoiding causing harm in the first place. But when it comes to soothing pain, all three are useful in their own ways.

A hard thing about empathy is when people assume they know how you feel, but you feel totally differently. Not everyone has the same experiences. I wish more people had compassion whether or not they brought empathy to the table.

the gift giving thing is really cute, it reminds me of how my puppy will retrieve little items and give them to me. Even if it's a dirty pinecone dug out of the mud, it's a present and it's very kind of him to bestow me with the honor

Gifts (usually in the form of food or trinkets) is my primary love language. You bring me a snack, I will bring you a Keychain or some other trinket that looks like your favorite food. Bring me a trinket or a video game, I will cook you a whole pizza from scratch, from the dough to the sauce to freshly shredded cheese and any other topping you can think of, even if I hate that topping with a passion.

Lowkey, the concept of forever really doesn't make sense or is a bad thing. Everything has a life cycle even ideas. Yeah some stuff has it's renaissance or rebirth but anything and everything has a legacy. If it was short term but has a really good legacy, that was successful by default. but if it goes on for a long time it can stagnate and get worse. Like Hollywood! It had it's golden age in the 20s and 30s and a rebirth in the 80s and 90s but now it's full of corporate bigwigs that want to squeeze it's writers and actors for everything they have and keep a lot of the profits for themselves while creating lackluster movies.
