This is an amazing laptop - been following the reviews for this since it was announced. Really hard to imagine how Dell would so comprehensively undermine their own XPS models with this Inspiron but great news for consumers that they have. This top spec model undercuts the RTX 3050 XPS model by around £1,000 but it outperforms it, sitting in between the XPS 15 & 17 on most tests, I think? You could splash out on a 4K monitor if the lower spec screen was an issue but otherwise, this is a great value package for anyone that doesn’t need the premium design aesthetic of the XPS. I bought one of these laptops a week ago. I did not receive it yet, since the shipping services in Canada are really slow. Anywho, spec wise the Inspiron 16 plus is an absolute beast. I know I will like it. Cheers.

How are you finding it, I got the same laptop a week, and I hear people have trackpad issues, I am not sure wheather to keep or return it

@@stevenson68478 I mean it's probably driver related. I would update your drivers and see if it fixes the issue if u have that problem. I bought this laptop and I have no issues, plus I use a wireless mouse anyway so the trackpad does not bother me that much.

@@stevenson68478 usually laptops heat up. That's the nature of any technology. It's nothing u should worry about. I would keep it free of dust and debris so it functions as it should, but other than that this laptop is a beast! I enjoy it very much. U will too.

I've been using my Dell Inspiron 16 Plus for 16 days now. I'm sad because I'm having fan issues. I don't use any major app for the fan to continously blow hot air like that (the below and above is hot to touch). Other times it's on and off but really for everyday work use I only open 1 amazon workspace, 2 Google Chrome tab, and 1 Excel spreadsheet. The battery last me 4 hours when not plugged in. Not happy and in touch with Dell tech support who submitted request to get the whole unit replace (but he said it for approval) wthell >_

Great review. Thanks. Looks great and i like the specs and ports.. But I heard the trackpad becomes useless overtime. Did you notice? Probably it's fine at the beginning... Also, are the speakers downward facing bad? I hate the numpad but prefer antiglare screens over the glossy ones

have the same model, good laptop but hot af. When I have it on battery and in the lap my balls are burning even if i have only 1 chrome tab open after 10min

I received mine recently with the same specs but the screen has a noticeable yellow tint out of the box compared to my XPS15 9550 (quite old now). Does yours have that issue? I'm not sure if its just because of the new "Low blue light" certified screens on new Dell laptops or if its faulty... Also it runs much hotter and louder than I was expecting! Interested to see your review

Hey Chris…I had the same problem with mine too with the yellow tint and it bothered me so much I sent it back. I don’t have a color calibrator so lets see if he calibrates it if he has the same problem! I have the Inspiron 14 7400 with low blue light and 300 nit panel and it is almost as good as an XPS screen and blew the 16 out of water as far as screen quality and brightness. If I knew I could get the 16 with same screen quality as my 14 I would re order it in a heartbeat. The 3060 in it is no joke and benchmarked on mine better than some people who benchmarked their xps 17 with 3060.

​@@duchenedesignsolutions7036 Glad to hear I'm not the only one! It almost looks like it has a permanent "night mode" filter on... I don't own a professional calibrator either and don't think it should be necessary on a brand new laptop I'm probably going to send it back too, but I agree I would re-order it if I could be guaranteed it won't have the same problem. It's a shame when the laptop is otherwise excellent. Dell Quality control seems a bit hit and miss...

Sorry if this is late. I kind of noticed this too. If you use the included "Dell CinemaColor" and set it to movie mode, it gets rid of that tint. That said, when viewing video content or playing a game, that yellow tint goes away for me completely. It's weird, but play around with cinema color with the pre-loaded presets and you can easily adjust the color levels if the presets aren't to your liking.

I’ve heard this laptop and dell in general have a lot of overheating issues, even getting so hot after a couple google chrome tabs are open that it just shuts down. Have you noticed any problems? For context I’m looking at the dell inspiron 16 5620

@@teddym2808 I worded it wrong, what I meant is if you’re someone who’s always on the go and needs a laptop that is easy to carry around and doesn’t need gaming specifications, the 16 plus wins . Better build, longer battery life and lightweight to carry around. I have the legion 5i and my brother has the 16 plus and I can tell you, battery life, overall build and laptop weight is better on the 16 plus. But when it comes to gaming, my legion is way better obviously.
