I bought the Ace Pro at the online Insta360 shop for 369,99 euros just this morning. There are many great super offers and I think It's a very good price for that valuable action cam. I will use the Ace Pro expecially when riding EUC, but also when walking with friends and in other situations. I understood that the Ace Pro isn't perfect, but It's perfect to me. Thanks a lot for this good video, very useful.

Nonsense. ANYTHING can be a vlogging camera. You could vlog with a video camera from 1990.

Hey Kiran, I subscribed! This was the most to-the-point video of the Insta360 Ace Pro I have seen. Thank you for speaking about the drawbacks in real world scenarios as well. Another potential drawback is that the lens cover is not removable. So if you scratch it you need your unit repaired. Insta360 can do the repairs up to 1 year after purchase but still you are missing your camera that is a potential money maker. I personally do not need it (maybe I will go with the Insta360 X3) but the Ace Pro is step into action cams bcoming more versatile. Looking forward to the next model!

Good review, 4 months into this camera and loving it. Yes, a longer close focus limit is unfortunate but not a deal breaker for me compared to all the other pluses this camera offers. Also, if you're consistently vlogging at that range, then use a diopter filter +1 or +2 fixes this limitation. I'm sure others will say well you have to use a filter but don't forget, cameras like DJI or GoPro also has filter options to do certain things ie. max lens 2.0. If your main use is vlogging at those distances, then there are better alternatives like the Pocket 3. I have not had any over exposure issues with mine, strange.

For the overexposure, have you tried HDR option to see if the exposure of the sky is better ?

Between this and the Insta360 x3, which would you recommend? I know one is a 360 camera and one is not but im so torn as to what to get. I would mostly be using it for traveling and snorkeling.

Pure Video mode, I get a lot of street light flickering - not matter if my anti flicker is set to auto or 50hz (which is correct for where I live). No difference in frame rate either 24 or 30. Bad. I found it quite disappointing. Even in quite bright places (like shop fronts lit up at night ) you can still still the flickering street lights in the background. Actually worse for flicker than the Hero 12.

Do you think Insta360 will fix the focusing issues with a firmware update or new mode? OR do you think it comes in Gen 2 of the Ace Pro?

This is a great question and something that I don’t know!

It’s a fixed lens. It is not autofocus, so there’s nothing to fix. It will never have a softer background unless you use a closeup lens.
