You asked for a comment so here it goes. First your review was very good. I'm not saying that to be pleasant or nice - it was thorough and well presented. It was obvious you care about the topic. Second, although I know nothing about cameras, I agree with you that this camera is not suited for your KZbin needs. The picture wasn't as clear and stable as your other videos, which is all that matters to me. I look forward to more of your reviews, your bike check video was also good. You might regret adding reviews to your repertoire, it puts more on your plate.

Really enjoy this kind of review. For such a tiny camera it’s very impressive and looks really convenient. I do notice the quality and stabilization isn’t really able to keep up with the riding ;) . For quick stories on social media looks perfect though, although at that price I think you can get something better. Great stuff, Dale.

Great review Dale. Your presenting style has always been top shelf. For those interested in a video camera for their rides (or anything else really), I’d bet this is as good a review as any out there. While I’m not really in the market for one, I will say that I’d love you to use a camera like this to include a second perspective on rides. That would be cool. To be honest, I quite liked some of the vertical shots since they showed the trail ahead better. I personally really liked the dynamism brought by changing the video orientation. As you say, that it doesn't shoot more than 1440p50 is sad (along with no expandable storage, and relatively short battery life), but as someone who has never done anything like that, it seems like a great choice! Just, on the note that hopefully there is a proper upgrade later on.

Good review. I like that this camera shows steepness and elevation better than a GoPro, but unfortunately it's at the cost of resolution and frame rate. Colors are good though. The wind noise, non-expandable storage and non-replaceable battery are a deal breakers though. Definitely more suited for quick clips where sound, image quality and record times won't be much of an issue. Would love to see your thoughts on the Insta360 One R or GoPro Max.

even H8 with RS GO crushes GO2, but: I do not need to let it process for hours. I actually can do edit in 10 minutes or so even on my mobile, which is a bit crazy. H8 on helmet is no go because its quite a bit of weight. GO2 on helmet is no issue actually I cannot notice it. I have it set to 1m so I can capture clips I trigger and then stitch them. The biggest gripe I have is : profiles, I would love to keep some profiles like on gopro to use with different ND filters and conditions on GO2. I will still use it for MTB and FPV racing, weights nothing and does decent job, anyway :)

Good review Dale, think you got across all the points well and showed good examples of the settings of the camera and discussed the positive and negatives well. Have one serious question for you though on resolution ...... Are that many people watching higher than 1440p according to your dashboard? I'd be very curious to hear what percentage are rocking those monitors vs those with 1080P & 1440P. I know my 1080p monitor is about 10 years old and nothing fancy, but I think it's good enough to watch YT content on, especially action footage, but maybe my ignorance is bliss, since I only have experience with 1080p and 1440p or higher would be a revelation :-\
@DaleStone3 жыл бұрын
Good question, that's not a metric I can see. I only got a 1440p monitor as a Christmas gift to myself last year haha. Anecdotally, ~40% of my views come from mobile devices which usually aren't that high resolution.
@lynxg46413 жыл бұрын
Thought YT logged ands shared those sort of metrics with creators so they could better understand their audiences and their viewing habits/preferences. Don't feel so bad now about my old 1080p monitor, although it's definitely on it's way out with the top 1/6th having some funky lines on it. Hoping to maybe get a nice 1440p IPS panel in the near future.
