Very few human beings understand this, but since you mentioned it, I thought I'd say something. The camera extends out from the bullet time gizmo due to inertia. It follows a circular path through the air due to the centripetal force exerted on it from the string which, of course, comes from your hand pulling it around (simple rotation, really). Most people should forget they ever heard the term "centrifugal force." It's an imaginary force in a rotating frame of reference. Just forget about it. I am happy, though, that you mentioned centripetal force! :) I'm a student at your school (probably your worst student), I think you're great, and I love your work. Keep it up!

BL I think you made a typo. You said 5706x 2160 but it is actually 5076X2160. The 2.35 aspect ratio is best I agree.

I have insta360 One X2 as well and the video you show are clear. Mine is blurry and grainy and even after exporting with grain removed does not help. Care to share what software you and any other info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

As a One X owner the only listed draw card is the better HDR video so far. Built in polariser would be a really smart feature in the future.

Oh and I just realised waterproofing is great for in the rain, I don't actually need it to be submerged, but in the rail could be handy at times.

Thank you very much for your advice. I was about to change my one x for the new one x2 but if the recording quality is similar, I won't make any changes. Maybe in a year's time the insta360 company will introduce a new model with sensors of 1 inch or more resolution. Thank you for your honest review because it is difficult to find any honest review when the company insta360 gives away their cameras in exchange for good publicity and that shows in most of the channels and reviews (especially in Spanish language!!)

Nice video! Making the camera more rugged, a bigger battery, and improving the overall experience seems like a good way to go about version 2. Hopefully the next version improves image quality and resolution so that these things can be better with the use case of film everything and reframe to a normal 16:9 flat FOV.

It seems like 90mbps v30 card is good. But then the camera doesn't not record in 100mbps since sd card can only write 90mbps. So it's a lie that it can. It probably records at 90mbps and then does software magic to get to 100mbps in certain scenarios.

I have owned the One X since it hit the market, and although I have had fun with it, I confess that I'm not obsessed. When the One R came out, the versatility definitely caught my attention, but having the One X and a GoPro 8, I have been cautious about buying the One R...and now the One X2...totally confused. I get the X2's upgraded features...and they are interesting...but my question is around the updated app. Am I able to use all the app's features with the One X?

I assume in all your sample videos you simply shot in the highest quality settings possible (never using the mobile app for any actual editing or exporting) and then just edited all the footage directly on the insta360 desktop app, correct? I say especially because I've seen lots of other reviews and sample footage in the past couple days and (by far) none looks nearly as good as yours. Fantastic video! I was initially worried the image quality limitations would prevent this from being used as a beginner filmmaking tool in 4K, but your render settings and intro convinced me to give this another look! Could you share a few more thoughts about the One X2 vs the One R with the 360 mod? In theory the One R would be more versatile with its modular design and more compatible with more mods, but I'm also interested in a "just press record and go" workflow.

In 5.7K, the Insta360 ONE X2 stops after 30 minutes of recording and then resumes recording after 5 seconds. 5 seconds of recording are therefore missing. As a result, it is not possible to record more than 30 minutes continuously. It's unimportant for some but for me it's a very bad surprise.

Dual 1” sensor in the X2 could have turn the Theta Z1 on the dust. But as always, they tend to be by far too conservative. Please Insta 360 don’t be like Canon....push that pedal 💪🏼

Yes if you zoom into your footage more (90 degree field of view). You will lose a lot of resolution.

How about durability, since it is an action cam? I have one x and it is temperamental. Many times it refused to save the footage after i press the stop button. Lost many trackday footage due to this. Now looking to get either the pro max or one x2

Hi! I'm planning to get a pocket cam and I'm torn between insta360 one R and one X2. I do not currently own any action cams and the one R's modular design is tempting. However, it appears that the X2 is more durable since it comes in one piece. Given that I'm not sure when and if I will be able to buy the 1-inch sensor lens for the One R, would you think going for the X2 is better than going for the One R (twin edition)? Is the One R's 4k lens a lot better than the 360 lenses given that you can use the X2 as a normal front facing cam? Thanks in advance!

Honestly I never used the One R very much, even though I have one. The image appeared to be the same as the One X (and One X2). The one-inch sensor looked awful to me because of heavy compression artifacts and extremely high in-camera contrast. Plus you can’t focus closer than 1m.

@@ChrisFoxPH in my opinion all the lenses are not super-high quality (heavy chromatic aberration and purple fringing, ugly flare). R and X2 have the same lens as far as I can tell. The X2 doesn't seem tougher than X, it's just waterproof. Really I think it comes down to if you want modular and square shape, or non-modular and flat shape.
