Thanks so much for this video! Do you have a workflow for getting the Insta360 native files into Resolve? I see you're editing .mp4 so I assume you're converting the .insv to .mp4 (h264 or h265?) within Insta360 Studio.

Yes as long as you have Fusion you can use KartaVR

Works great with horizontal video, but Karta VR breaks down when you invert the aspect ratio. Any ideas how to resolve this?

Hi Brandon! Great videos thank you :) I'm following your instructions for the masking transition, (around 12 minutes) and when I use the polygon tool, instead of getting the trasnparent effect (black and grey squares) the mask cuts a hole and then shows the equirectangular footage underneath, as in, the footage before it has been reframed. It's kind of like it's putting the 'media in' node underneath. Not exactly the effect i'm after! Any chance you know what I'm doing wrong?

Do you have to export the insta files from the studio software first ? I tried loading the files into resolve and only get half the view and there are large gaps in it too. Only asking as the insta studio app falls over when I try to export the footage I edit.

Newbie question if I import a 5.7 K export from insta360 Studio, I have transparent borders all around the image in fusion, which also means that I don’t seem to be able to do a yaw over, let’s say 60°. Do I have to scale it down to 4K in insta360 already ? I wanted to work with the maximum information I have before out putting it.

I had this same issue and the way I could make it work was to export my 360 footage from the Insta360 Studio as 3840 x 1920. I tried dimensions above this and it always resulted in transparent borders on the fusion page. Perhaps it is part of the 4k limitation in the free version of Resolve? Here are my Insta360 Studio output settings: Select "Export 360 Video" Change Encoding format to "ProRes 422" Change Resolution from 5888 x 2944 to 3840 x 1920

Planar tracking is usually a mess. The subject is constantly changing size, orbit, and it goes out of frame. I have tried auto tracking many times only to throw away the data at the end and just go all manual

So the hyperlapses are also done in Karta VR. When I first saw the Kyoto Vid, I thought it was exported in Insta 360 then edited on FCP. Learned a lot from this. My Problem with Karta VR is that black dot whenever you are reframing all the way out. Still looking to solve this problem, maybe some of you guys here in the comment section who already know can help me. Thanks

you jumped from edit page to fusion page, if i use reframe on the time line in the edit page i can yaw full 360 but if i follow your vid then in fusion its not a 360 video, i have tried loads of things, not putting reframe on the clip on the time line, putting on the time line clip, started it as a new project, made sure all tge settings are fine for 360 pls help thank you
