That's mostly shooting in bright sun (in my experience with a few generations of insta 360 cameras).

@@CaptJimDavis Buyer beware on all these videos - this is KZbinr influencer at its HIGHEST - the embargo has lifted - there are 50 videos out there about this "ACTION CAMERA" - and what NONE OF THEM TELL YOU - is that these lenses are DELICATE - like you WILL SCRATCH the lens in snow - or on a bike trail - or a dropping it on a table - and then - it will cost (at least it did on previous models) $99 to fix it - or all your footage will have a smudge from the scratch. Also - you have to write an email to them explaining it - then wait 4 weeks for a reply - then fill out a form and pay the $99 plus shipping - to CHINA - then - wait another 4 weeks - until you get our camera back.....ALL of these videos got a FREE camera - and then went snowboarding - and if they had to pay $500 for the camera - then another $99 if they dropped it in the snow - which WILL scratch it - they would not use it. The lens guards dont work - in fact I had one scratch my actual lens when the camera hit the ground while not even snowboarding - SLEDDING on a bunny hill! BUYER BEWARE! These are just commercials for free cameras given to influencers.

This is third video I've watched on the X4 today. This is definitely the most clear up front comparison of the two cameras. Thanks 👌🏻 Edit. The point you made at the end about the X3 being the I phone and the X4 being the pro is exactly what ive been thinking. Well said.

I have Insta 360 x4. 8K on Insta360 is a 4k back camera + 4k front camera. There's also general nuances of projecting a 180 degrees view to a square sensor, not sure, but my guess it will not use all sensor surface, seams it will be circle inside square. When you export video in most cases (~120 degree field of view) you make a very strong crop x1.5 from single sensor or x3 from both sensors and your output resolution will be max 2.7k(if we do not take into account 180 projection issues). That is what I see during my export, I get good resolution(certainly not real 4k) only on a very wide angle exports. Overall, I am very happy with the camera, as I can shout very good views that I am not able to shoot with any other devices, but video resolution results are significantly lower then all other competitors do.

I've always felt you don't need extra frames with 360 cams - it's so stable the slomo doesn't add much. But that's just a preference.

I’ve tested out some highlight environments with HDR enabled and tbh I don’t notice much difference at all. It’s probably my lack of cinematic experience, or my lacklustre eyesight… but I just keep my settings on auto and shoot at 5.7k 60fps

It’s about the same in my experience. But if you find some deadcats to put on the mics or use the insta360 mic wind muff attachments, the audio is absolutely crisp. I was clocking nearly 90km/hr into the Nines hip a few days ago and you could still hear me having a conversation when the wind muff attachment was used 🙏

Don’t have a scale handy sadly, but Techradar says it’s 10% heavier than the X3. I noticed the camera was a lil heavier when I mounted it to my helmet, but it was still solid for spins and backies.
