Instagram DM screenshot notification ---Don't take screenshots inside direct messages

Instagram's latest update notifies your friend when you take a screenshot inside DM. If anyone sends you a picture inside direct messages, and you take a screenshot, they will get a notification.
This has been a feature inside Snapchat for years, but Instagram finally rolled it out in January 2019.
There is currently no way around this notification, so make sure you are aware when you take a screenshot in your direct messages.

SCREEN RECORDING ONLY SAVES YOU IF YOU START YOUR RECORDING BEFORE OPENING THE PICTURE ND EXIT THE PICTURE THEN STOP THE RECORDING.. IF YOU STOP THE RECORDING WHEN PICTURE IS OPEN IT WILL STILL NOTIFY THEM THAT YOU'VE TAKEN A SCREENSHOT. TRIED ND TESTED!

Soo I guess that notifying mechanism (God bless it😑) works only when one sends a pic/vid inside DM and you screenshot it... It doesn't work on screenshoting stories, galleries, or just verbal DM messages. What I'm interested in now is if the person gets notified when the pic inside DM is still showable till you open it (that's possible, right🙄) and you screenshot it?

If you reply to someone's story then take a screen shot from the direct messages inbox but it is still of the story does it still notify them? It wasn't sent from the DMs

Yes. If a picture or video is sent to you through DM and you screenshot it, the person who sent them to you will be notified.

It’s easy to take ss if you have snap.. I have tried it on iphone 8 plus,. I don’t know about other phones. Just switch to some other app, then bring up the multitask windows ( home button twice). Slide over so that snapchat pms are visible.. and voila! You can’t take ss if someone sends you a pic using snapchat camera
