yeah with android its all the same app so Instagram developers don't want remake the app for 1000 of different android devices vs 1 apple device. so basically for us android users it's like bad port of a video game from one system to another

That doesn't make sense. All Android phones use Android os🤔. Instagram develop for the OS, not the device. The code between all Android device is identical and the rest is just a re skin of the UI and some extra features added.

Dazer I think it’s an algorithm thing, iOS will have more consistency in their photo compression/code. So I think that’s where the quality loss is

Yeah specs and some other things i changed to android and i love how good it is except ios syster is and will always be the best, ios has the best system quality ever it is so simple to use and easy, on samsung i sometimes accidently touch something and it gets messed up it's also hard to get used to it

mr.djkilah it doesnt matter what mode you choose to shoot your picture with. I tested it. I use same picture shot with my dslr but and upload on both iphone and android device. Checked the quality. The one uploaded from android became more blurry while the one uploaded from iphone retain the quality more. And it became worse if you just upload it using the share function on both iphone and android. Better wuality when you upload it from instagram app itself.

Thanks, this was helpful. Been an android user since its inception but now i'm thinking about getting an iPhone. Insta and snapchat are how I share my stuff and both are terrible on android.

It's definitely an Instagram algorithm issue on the Android app, since it's applicable for any uploaded image stored on a device, no matter what's the camera etc. In the end it's just an image file that app is supposed to process and upload. The iOS app just make it somehow different (and better). The question is why it's processed differently.

i just realise the app is 30 mb on android but is 115 on ios, this is insane but worth for digital influencers

Simple. It is because codec installed with the Instagram Apk. Several solutions can be applied. Install an earlier version of instagram (Instagram-47.apk); Record video with OpenCamera.. etc. On the web there are many solutions

You have to resize it before uploading. But IG saves stories based on your phone. I have Galaxy S10 5G (1080x2050) Iphone X is (1440x2560). You can find yours out if you save your stories with storysaver

I took a picture from a DSLR and uploaded it with my S9+ and noticed the drop in quality. Then I uploaded with my old iphone 6s. I can tell that the s9 compressed the picture more than the iPhone to the point that it is noticeable.

I gotta say i'm apple fan since 2012 until now i just changed to android, after the bad phones and expensive, ut was all steve jobs work and even until now iphones have better quality not just photos but the ios system is 100 times better ecause the quality is just so good it is so simple to use it and so very good android is kinda hard to even get used to it, not to mention there are tons of apps that could be virous if it is not verified or whatever, much respect for apple and ios system, but still their phones are now failure, android are better now

@@nuxwors two cameras didn't take the same image, with the same lighting, just with different compression (which is completely consistent across the "Android" example. Instagram may have problems, but this is a fake comparison.

@@nuxwors Ah, I see. I was linked to this video through a conversation I saw where someone was trying to prove iPhones have better cameras, so I came in with that context. It would be better if the video clearly stated the source of the problem as opposed to saying multiple times it's a problem with Android. This problem is known and intentional.

They’re like anything else in this world. It’s what you get out of it. For me personally, Instagram is a great resource for inspiration. The community is full of very talented people.
