how do i increase the length of the reel? Currently i can only do 15 seconds and the reel isn't using all my stories in my highlights? Thanks!

I have this problem too. I tried to make a reel of my story’s But I can only use 10 of my highlights in a 90 second clip. I have over 20 I want put in the reel.

Glad it was helpful. You can edit your highlights by clicking on the highlight and going to the bottom 3 dots ... where it says more and click on edit highlight. Or do you mean something else?

Meta changed it - go to your story highlights and click on one of them. At the bottom there is a "Create" button and the 3 dots with "More". Click on "Create" and it's all the same information as the video. Hope that helps.

@@TraciGurney I have the same issue, I don't even have the option to "create". I have the option to promote it (but cant cause it was also posted on my Facebook) and the three dots. The three dots only include "Send, delete, edit"

Hello! I have a question. Have you heard anything going on about integral reels saying “this song is currently unavailable” some of my reels of which I posted in this year and last year says the song I chose within the insta app that it’s not available. Is there anyway to fix this? Is this a big issue to wait on? I’ve seen other ppl on Twitter complaining about it and they don’t know what to do as well. This sucks bc Instagram doesn’t have a customer service representative to talk to.

Sorry to hear about that - Instagram is continuously making updates, changes, adding new features and sometimes it breaks old features however I haven't run into this myself nor any of my clients. Based on my experience it's probably one of the following: 1. You need to update the app as a bug was introduced on IG side when a new feature was rolled out (and there have been a lot) and caused an issue 2. The artist removed the song and IG database hasn't been updated 3. IG hasn't finalized copyright issue within your area for that music Also you could report the problem through the app by shaking your phone as the music issue occurs. But only if you have "shake phone to report a problem" toggled on. Otherwise go tap on the “three horizontal lines” icon at the top of your screen. A pop-up menu will scroll up with the “Settings” option on top. Click on it and scroll down to “Help”. Tap on “Report a Problem” and describe the issue. Hope that helps!

Instagram is constantly being updated - as of November 2023 you click on the highlights, at the bottom click on create, you will then be in the video editor and it will allow you to edit your highlights into Reels. Hope that helps you out!

@@TraciGurney No, I'm afraid, when I click/tap on a Highlight section, I only have the three dots at the bottom, but all it gives me are: Remove from Highlight, Edit Highlight, Send to, Boost Story, Share, to, and Copy Link.

@@Cartoonicus Do you have the latest version of Instagram? I put a picture of the "Create Reel Icon" in the community tab. Does your IG look the same?

I've been trying this but oddly I've been running into this problem of one story that is the same length as the others is longer like it won't continue to the next story it's usually the 4th story ??

IG has been doing quite a few update and there appears to be a few glitches. They've merged IGTV and Reels together along with allowing you to see Reels in Creator Studio. Lots of changes with their video and no surprise there could be hiccups. Hopefully once everything settles down it will come back and allow you to add the 4th story as the repurposing into Reels was a featured they promoted.

You're not dumb! They keep changing things, so it's easy to miss 🙂 Here’s the updated way: - Go to your profile and scroll down to your highlights. - Hold down on the one you want to make into a reel - A pop-up should appear with several options, including ‘Convert to Reel.’ You can then follow the rest of my video if you want to change any of the highlight. Let me know if this worked for you!

If you have the latest version of Instagram you should have it. You may have to log out or reinstall IG BUT REMEMBER if you decide to log out or uninstall Instagram you'll lose any drafts you have saved. With the latest version click on one of your highlights, go to the the 3 dots at the bottom of the highlight where its says "more" and options should pop up with Convert to Reel being the last one. Let me know if you still have issues.
