Thanks for the ideas. It gave me the inspiration to get my dryer venting done. 👍

I just cleaned my dryer vent duck out today, I could probably save some space using that type of slim fit duck, I have to look into it. Thanks for your video. P.S. I haven’t cleaned mine out in 5 1/2 years, I’m glad I did. It was pretty bad.

@@saltydoggie1160 Thank you! I’ll be installing one in the house I built….. I like that it’s all metal and can be cleaned easily!!

I would like to use the periscope one off to the side, through an adjacent wall and end right there in the back hallway. Short trip, easier to clean. Our dryer is electric, no gas in this subdivision. The current dryer vent goes UP, not out, 15 feet to the roof. I think this is a fire waiting to happen, even with annual duct cleaning for $125.
@thedustybuilder5 ай бұрын
Hmmm, when you say end in the hallway......I'm assuming it's going to vent outside. That could probably work, it might get tricky if you need to use a 90 at some point. I agree though, I wouldn't want my dryer venting onto the roof for several reasons!!

How do you cut this to size if you don't have the same alignment as you did in your video? Also, can you or anyone who has done this come to my house to install this? I have no idea how to get back there on my unit. 🥴
@thedustybuilderАй бұрын
@@Mugzee66 There is no cutting to size, the fitting slides up and down to reach the desired length. I’ll be right over to put yours in!

Doesn't the use of the periscoping slim-fit vent require the lint to blow upwards and out? Wouldn't that increase the amount of lint that gets trapped in there?
@thedustybuilder9 ай бұрын
Hello! Most ducts will only be a few feet long and the smooth surface will aid in blowing the lint outside. The periscoping vent is referred to as a 'transition duct' in the code book. The code allows this duct to be 8 feet long, less for every elbow that is installed. 😁

Do you know if you can flip the outbound vent to the same side as the inbound vent?

You can ! It will slide off and you can arrange it that way

I have a right side vent can I use that piece to go outside? It’s a tight hit
@thedustybuilder9 ай бұрын
Ooh, good question. Unfortunately no. I haven’t seen any specific vent for that scenario. I would do a 90 off the dryer and rigid ductwork until it terminates at the wall. Good Luck!

Can you put the rectangle dryer vent in the wall between studs?
@thedustybuilder11 ай бұрын
No! That vent needs to accessible. The vent for an in the wall application needs a 2x6 wall , hope that helps

Has anyone figured out what to do to save space for an LG wash tower dryer hose connection. It’s in the middle of the stack about 35 in up yet most dryer wall connections are at/near floor. I was thinking of the periscope yet the water hoses are exactly below the dryer hose opening! SMH.
@thedustybuilder7 ай бұрын
I just looked at it online, I would just turn the stack upside down, problem solved. Just kidding. What a bad design. Nothing comes to mind..... other than changing the dryer vent location, but that is a massive inconvenience.

I have that vent and the dryer is stacked. when the washer spins, the vent pulls out of the wall or the dryer. What can I do to prevent it from coming out?
@thedustybuilder9 ай бұрын
Hello. I would do 2 things. 1). Make sure the dryer is level…. If it isn’t, the spin cycle makes the entire washer move 2) Use a clamp And foil tape to secure the connection. Good luck!
