Today, we go over the all new Thermal R&D Full 3" Catback Exhaust for the 2020 and up Explorer ST 's . This system here carries a few different features making it unique from the rest of the pack.
- 3" T304 Stainless Steel, Mandrel-bent piping.
- Helmholtz Technology utilized to limit drone, but still produce aggressive sound.
- Mounts to OEM Downpipes (Or OEM Styled Downpipe).
- Utilized OEM Hangers, Tips Fits OEM Valance
* NOTE : Matt's Explorer ST is equipped with SPD Catted Downpipes WHICH may slightly effect the sound of the exhaust compared to OEM Downpipes.

Thanks a bunch. The wheels are the Vossen HF-5's in 22x10.5 for the front and rear. The truck currently sits on the Lethal Performance Explorer ST lowering springs which will be available here in about a week. At the moment, this system is $1,680.00 with free shipping to the Lower 48 states. It even includes a proper replacement for the factory mid-pipes/flex pipes that Ford has been having trouble with since day 1.

Are the clamps actually decent, or are they a throwaway and replace with better part like most exhaust systems?

We are fairly happy with clamp quality. No leaks in the system whatsoever and no stripping threads when tightened.

In cabin, it is certainly noticeable over stock, but non-intrusive whatsoever. No nasty drone. Just a light, in-cabin symphony.

We do not do any installations in house, although, the shop that installed this system, WBA Performance, should be able to install without issue!

Cutting oil from manufacturing burning off. It is normal with a new exhaust system. Should stop within the first 30 mins once the system is fully heated up and the oil is burned off.

How bad is the drone while driving?

There is a tad bit of drone with the current setup, however, nothing unbearable by any means. With stock downpipes, I imagine the drone wouldn't even exist at all.

Love all the blue oil smoke pouring out the exhaust… Same thing on the AWE system video… No clue what the ecoboost’s issue is in these explorers… but they seem to be sh*t compared to the f150’s… besides that, sounds mean. Love being able to hear the turbo whistle… 👍

It's completely normal with a brand new exhaust system. Just some of the cutting/machining oil the manufacturers use to cut the exhaust pipes that's still in the pipes. After one drive, there's no more smoke.

That’s from the oil residue leftover from manufacturing the exhaust system. All new exhaust systems smoke like that till the residue is burned off. This ST is still up and running strong and will hit the track again soon.
