The only reason I watched this was to see SpectrWm... Lol 😛 Sorry buddy, not a BTRFS guy but I like your videos so there is that... :) I only have 2 Wm's installed, SpectrWm and LeftWm. I did a update and had to reboot so I go back and forth. Today were on LeftWm. Tomorrow we might be on SpectrWm, depends on the reboot... Hahahahaha Keep thinking DWM, that has been a year of thinking and still not there BUT you DWM video got me real close!!! 🤔 Thanks Mike! Awesome as usual... LLAP 🖖

Thanks Bruce. I might have to give leftwm a try since you like it so much.

Nice, I was looking for a guide like this! Would the encrypted btrfs work with timeshift if you do not create subvols and just leave the single @rootfs volume? In that case, would any snapshot (and it's rollback) affect everything (i.e. /, /boot, /boot/efi and everything else) at once? What I'm looking for is an option to fully encrypt ALL of the installation (including /boot and EFI partition) and at the same time have snapshotting/rollbacking affect everything, so that I can be sure that any rollback (after a system upgrade, etc) will reset the entire system to the state it was in before the upgrade.

What do you think same setup but with debian testing ? : Remove all selection at "Configure the package manager", then at Software selection . Remove all selection except "standard system utilities". later #sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list. Remove bullseye and replace with testing.

Should work just fine. I am running Devuan testing branch on my main machine with encrypted btrfs subvolumes for the last year... No issues so far.

Different mount options....niccccee :)
@linuxdabbler2 жыл бұрын
@WC1376C22. Yeah, I wanted to update the mount options too since the ones i used to use had been supplanted and the new options are actually faster.

I am guilty as wellllllll😅😅😅 but Why would you use lvm in the first Place and Why wouldnt You encrypt Boot?
@linuxdabbler Жыл бұрын
@marcello4258. Btrfs does not encrypt out of the box, so lvm was needed. Encrypting the boot partition would have made things even more secure, but it is fairly advanced, requiring several more steps, and I wanted to keep it somewhat simple.

@miyolinux. Dude I laughed entirely too hard at that. Oh and by the way, I did give nnn a try yesterday and it is really nice, but I'm a dual pane guy, so it might take some time for me to truly appreciate it. Lol
