Honda makes a part for the eu3000is generator where the recoil has the starter motor builtin. So you don't have to do any of this. Just swap the recoil with the honda electric recoil and anytime you give 12v to the 2 wires of the recoil it will spin the engine.

There is a alternator coil that goes behind the flywheel in conjunction with the ignition coil, its right next to the flywheel when he has all the parts layed out. Pretty sure the box with the key has the voltage regulator and stuff already in it
