You covered right away the best piece of information about the distance between the wall and drawers. IKEA should list that on the first page. Thankful for this.

Excellent walkthrough! Informative and "straight forward" as you like to say. I'm feeling very inspired to try this myself. One observation in regard to the shut off valve and drain pipe clearance for the drawers. I believe you were correct the first time when you said the clearance was 4". You later said it was 3.5" at the 17:10 mark of the video. But as you can see, you measured from the lateral support and not the wall which would actually give you more leeway. A 1/2" doesn't seem like much but as you said, this is a very tight install and a 1/2" can make all the difference depending on what you're set up is like.

The legs on the U shaped piece for the overflow are long so that you can trim it to length. at about 20:28 where the overflow is connected you can see how the tube is distorted and putting pressure on the tailpipe. Trimming the top leg of that tube would allow it to line up correctly.

Adding this same exact combo to a bath remodel this week! We're about to do the stud wall and plumbing rough-in; came here hoping to find some basic help, but this is over the top great! The horizontal reinforcement stud is a great idea, and because of this info, we'll frame to match the edge fasteners of the cabinet. Thanks again!

Just doing the same sink now. Previous comments about drawer rails are good, using a different head on the mounting screws. The type shown here don't trap the keyhole plate against the bracket.

Thank you for posting this video. Can you please tell me if the sink can be screwed to the wall? i'm sure that I saw some hole's under your sink for fixing it to a wall. Or is just fixing the sink to the cabinet with silicone safe enough? Thanks in advance.

Very important.. water lines MUST do a full 90° out of the wall otherwise it won't clear. In other words you can not use a straight shut off valve. I just found this out the hard way

This is a great video! Thank you for uploading.We are installing a 31" godmorgon cabinet in the right corner of the bathroom. I'm wondering how we get it to fight tightly. If the sink top overhangs on the side I imagine I will have to move the cabinet away from the wall a slight amount? Also, we want a tile backsplash. Do we tile around the sink after it's installed or before? Thanks again.
@dougbrown17978 жыл бұрын
John- You are correct..you'll probably have to move it out slightly or cut it into the wall and blend it with the tile...Either way it should look fine.......

Good video thanks. Im doing 3 of these drain/waterline installs for their floating vanities on Saturday for a nice little side job. Ive watched a few videos on these vanities and yours helped a lot. Take care. What kind of pipe was inside the wall though? How did you connect that adapter going to inside the wall?
@Cheranetube4 жыл бұрын
I had the problem that the drain stopper kept getting stuck, and I couldn't remove it (after a bit of use). I think I'll try to remove the fancy stopper and just get a normal rubber plug... it's not worth the hassle (unless there's something I'm really missing here).

Hi! great vid .. I am installing this sink and cabinet combo .. my wall drain is bigger than the ikea pipes .. what is the connection you fitted to your drain? thanks!

It should be 1 1/4 just go to your local hardware store and get a reducer piece to join the two. You should be fine!
@arealmaintenanceandrepairl11032 жыл бұрын

Thanks for the vid. Question: my hubby and I wanted to have this mounted at 36 inches from floor ( with three 12 inch legs attached to the front). Do you know why ikea recommends 29 7/8 as max height?? Any idea what could happen if we installed 36 in?
@dougbrown17978 жыл бұрын
29 7/8 is the universal height before vanity top is installed...I see no problem with you putting it at 36 inches. It could just be tough if you have any little people (i.e.: kids) in the house......Also don't forget about re-sell, Buyers may be turned off with that high of vanity.

great vid. im installing the 39" vanity of the Godmorgon. the brakets will not line up with the studs. You had mention about a mounting braket? how will that work?
@dougbrown17978 жыл бұрын
First...Are you using legs on it? That will help with the weight and support. Second you can drive mounting screws through the back support into the studs.....Thirdly some molly bolts won't hurt......Just get some screws into some structural support.
@dougbrown17978 жыл бұрын
P.Delgado...That bracket along the top would be great points to lock it down onto the wall- Find the studs behind that....

On a bigger Godmorgon where standard studs don't align with the Ikea attachment points, what do you do? Do you have to tear open the wall and reinforce? What about a metal strapping with holes in it you put into the studs and then connect the Ikea attachment brackets to using anchors?
@dougbrown17978 жыл бұрын
I like your idea with the metal strapping just make sure you still hit the supports...Tearing open the wall may be your best bet and if you have any plumbing issues you can address it at the same time also Good luck
