danke für das Video. diese Idee hatte ich auch schon mal Linux auf eine TV Box zu machen um als iobroker Server laufen zu lassen aber es stört mich das ganze über SD-Karte laufen zu lassen weil dann kann ich gleich den Raspberry nehmen und der frisst nämlich die SD Karten daheim muss das ganze auf den internen Speicher der langlebiger ist als eine SD-Karte nur so macht es Sinn. Im Moment läuft der iobroker auf einem normalen Desktop-PC bei mir.

Hi, Thankyou for this excellent suggestion. i am desperate to try this method. i have a little different situation, hope you can help. I have S905x3 xair96, its stuck in a boot loop mode. ive tried most possible ways to unbrick it, but its a NO GO. Since your method has option to boot from SD card, can i do that on my device with your method and then booting it with the hard reset method and then choose boot from SD card. (Will this work?) Also if the above works, will i have to choose the boot from SD card manually every time if i reboot the device? or is there a permanent solution to set up to boot from SD card since i don't have access to the BOX UI. Thank you.

Can this be done on rockchip rk3399 TV boxes? I don't have the update app on my rk3399 TV box. Tried installing manjaro arm but the box always boots into android rather than booting from SD card.

trying to turn this into a pi-hole from an android box s812 model with latest Armbian_21.02.0-trunk_Aml-s812_focal_current_5.10.0_.img...was able to load the AML_xxx.zip file but i get no HDMI following the reboot, anything to be done for that?

if it has speakers, then you can get the audio out using the speakers, if it has a Jack port, you can connect external speakers to that.

The information on here is very outdated, and no longer works because the package images are different now on how they install. There was many images for different boxes, but now there is one, and you have to edit the image you put on the SD card to work with your specific chipset. Look for a video on here titled "Linux on Android TV Box (2021)"

Check the technical specs of your device first. It says in the fucking title already its specifically compatible only to Amlogic S905X SoC

well in for a penny in for a pound,. I started this when I got hooked to Kodi. I had a raspberry pie 3 that I loaded libre electric with the Kodi installed. Loved it. then I got this M8s+ first I couldn't get exodus to load but I got Yoda on it. But I missed the libre electric. I tried installa ARMBIAN Ubuntu Mate following the forum for the past week but it alway failed at the end. I manage to change the root password, set new user, and than after this the boot get stuck doing "a start job is running for daily apt download" or sometimes even before on "reached target bluetooth". I got stuck in the part where says "reached target bluetooth" then I pressed Ctrl + Alt + F1 then I was prompted to a login terminal. I logged in then typed "startx" and then the Desktop Environment apeared
