Thanks for the tutorial. It's great. Some thoughts after use it with OL7.4 and oracle12cr2. 1. Some X libs are missed and needs to be installed to run installer. Also xhost+ makes the magic. 2. yum install dejavu-serif-fonts required, otherwise you will see beautiful rectangles instead of fonts. 3. First prerequisites check show missed users, groups, libs, etc - almost all item status was warning or failed. Re-run helps. 4. Swap space for 12cr2 is insufficient. It needs more than 3.6GB. 5. Clear iptables rules, otherwise forget about remote connections.

Very informative and simple to follow the steps. Thank you for the detailed video. I have a doubt whether we would be able to install without using a key pair as we use the session manager to connect to an EC2 instance instead of key pair via SSH. Would that be possible? Ideas on it much appreciated.

Great Video! Really Great video.. One additional entry would be to add the export for Oracle Home Oracle Base , etc.. to the .bash_profile. This video really nailed the install ..

hello , thanks for this tutorial .. it is excellent however I ran into an issue, I could install the database and connect successfully from the ec2 instance , still I cannot connect to the database from my desktop ; when i type hostname in the server , I get something like ip-xx-x-x-xxx.ap-south-1.compute.internal; in the above video it was just like ip-xx-x-x-xxx.. please help me on this issue

Awesome directions, however I'm stuck, I don't know where I missed this step but the authorized_keys file key creation at 30 mins into this wasn't clear for me and I'm not able to log in as oracle user. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

How did you get your zip file onto the volume?

How did you upload the files to that volume? Which you attached to the EC2 instance.

I guess he already created a volume attached to an earlier any of instances then download/copy files to the volume. Then detach the volume and user whenever necessary.

Thanks a lot for this tutorial. i have been searching something like this which can guide to install Oracle database on a cloud instance. What tool are you using to connect to your AWS machine? Please post the link if possible? Secondly, do you have any tutorial like this for preparing machine and installing oracle database on google compute engine. Thank you.

mobaXterm and/or VNC Viewer. Nothing on other platforms but I would assume that if you have a Linux OS the steps would be the same.

Hi, I updated the tnsnames.ora and listener.ora to point to the host name and used the Public DNS (IPv4) in sqldeveloper hostname just as the video prompted, but ending up with Failure IO Error: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection. The lsnrctl status shows services running. I followed the video step by step, can you please suggest ASAP...
