Things I had to do differently on PVE 7.1-10 (installed on top of Debian): 1. The command at 9:10 had to use "local" instead of "local-lvm" (most will figure that out, but still) 2. Had to change boot order to boot from the disk instead of PXE (thx to Joel Frojmowicz) 3. Had to disable Secure Boot in the virtual BIOS (symptoms: VM boots to EFI shell). Exit shell by typing "exit" (without quotes). Go to device manager, in Device Manager, select Secure Boot Configuration, Un-tick Attempt Secure Boot and accept “Configuration Changed" prompt, press Esc, Esc and in the main screen select Reset.

This was the refresher I needed! thank you so much! Small remark! if you get an error that says "start pxe over ipv4", check your boot order in: Your VM - Options - Boot order - and then make sure your imported disk is enabled and on the first spot. Click okay and start the VM up. That should install HA without issues
@Skysong845 ай бұрын
This was EXTREMELY HELPFUL, thank you! You might want to mention that a hard-wired Ethernet connection is required - I was trying to set up on an old Windows tablet and ran into tons of issues before realizing what the problem was. Once I got an Ethernet to USB C adapter, things went pretty smoothly :)

For whoever has the same problem as I do where your VM boots into PXE over IPV4, make sure that when you add the disk, you set "Bus/Device" to SCSI. Mine was set to IDE as the default option and it took me quite a while to figure out why the VM didn't boot. Outside of that, great video dude!

I also had this problem. Solved by changing setting on the VM - 'Options';- double click 'Boot Order' enable new Disk (scsi0 on my install) by checking box; then I dragged this disk to top of list so it boots quicker (otherwise it will try & fail on others before getting to the disk with HA present.

Hi, I see you have very many custom themes I need some help. I wanted to put a custom photo I have for my background with a clear theme can you help me with this? What’s the easiest way to do this? I tried many things I read with local/background.jpg I can’t seemed to figure out for it to work.

Hi Juan, watched your guide some time ago and installed everything on a laptop. When it is working it works great, really fast. Only thing is it does not work all the time. Sometimes it hangs (couple of times a week). It gives me the "e1000e Detected hardware unit hang" error. Only thing I can do then is press the power button and restart the whole laptop. Tried this solution: "ethtool -K gso off gro off tso off tx off rx off" but sadly it did not work for me. Can't find anything els I could do. Do you have any advice. Is there something else I could try?

Juan, Thank you so much for doing videos, your skills are always appreciated. This install went flawlessly Except for when I went to run Home Assistant. In the console, the Proxmox screens pop's up and then fail's to connect. The Uefi screen then pops up and says in yellow Shell.. Do you have any ideas.

@@jongriffith4293 very late as I only just installed HA today, but you needed to change the boot order. Mine defaulted to CD drive, need to change it to hard drive. So type 'exit' at the prompt, then use keyboard to change boot order and select drive.
