Install / Review: Bumot Defender & Top Case for R1200 GS Adventure (Liquid Cooled)

These mount directly to the OEM GSA Racks. They look amazing on the triple black GS Adventure 2017. Love them!!!! Bumot (via AdvMotorrad) makes every single part as a replacement part so if you break them, just replace parts as needed!!!

Adam - I have these in black and really like them. Very sturdy, tight, one key for everything, fits the OEM racks, keeps water out. . . .great boxes!

Agreed. these are incredibly solid boxes! While all-black would have been nice, I don't mind the grey w/ black pattern as it matches the triple black really well.

How was the top case for your passenger, and do they make a passenger back rest for it? Did she feel safe and secure?

They do sell a back-rest. Top case is nice. It's very sturdy although you have to tighten up the holders sometimes but other than that, it's a good setup. IT's a perfect square so without the back rest, it's not too comfortable.

Adam apply some blue lock tight to those top box screws, lost mine on the cobdr this summer they vibrated out. Great panniers though I love mine!

Hard to remember. I sold these a while ago due to water ingress. They also easily bent & broke with a couple of falls. BUT, they’re an excellent value for people who primarily ride on-road.

Nope. Boxes leaked and were too loose (had play back and forth on my stock racks) so I sold them and got Jesse Racks + Luggage.

2nd look at this system...big major flaw. You cannot remove topcase with contents inside. Also the hooking on system seems too light...the box may fly off.

Absolutely. It's not a flaw I've really had an issue with but if you are in the habit of bringing your cases indoors (like a a hotel) at night for safety, then having to take everything out to do that is certainly annoying.

What are the capacity of your panniers?

Sides are 45L + 39L. Top is 41L so total of 125 Litres of storage.

Adam Chandler I have a standard 2015 Triple Black, but looking at the GSA version next, using Varios at the moment but Bumot look the best option for the GSA racks.
