The solution is at the bottom of page 19 of the installation instructions. You have to open a terminal and as root user enter the two commands. When you hit enter after the second command Abaqus GUI will open.

just install the exact version of the java jdk shown. then add the java environment path. restart pc then run abaqus installer

Yes, in student edition there is a limit on maximum number of elements that can be defined.

@@StressedGrinch that can be due to soany reasons. Especially when you do not have the correct dependies installed or corrupt registry settings.
