Hi, I would like to mount "the Sonoff" in a garden and I would like to ask two questions: does it also work mounted inside a junction box located in an external environment controlled by a 433mhz remote control? How far could it work in an open environment (the sonoff) with the radio control (433Mhz) supplied? Thanks for the reply.

Yes it can work if you protect it from rain. Signal works approximately 100 meters

If you live in the UK please do NOT do this...... it is not safe. Apparently you don't connect the earth for an outside light??? Why did the manufacturer put it there then? Looks like Speaker cable to me (different country To me)? No cpc (earth) in the cable? No fuse (once again possibly different regs)? Tape connections that are outside, No IP box? All this may not be needed in that country but in the UK it is and some other countries too. Sorry to be so negative but for the same amount of time and a little more cost you could have done, to my mind a better job and made a really good video.

UK and more generally in the Euro zone, no insurance company will ever refund the damages after you set your house on fire due to such DIY electrical crap. This is just asking for trouble.

It is not about getting offended for nothing, it is about dangerous installation. This isn't arduino with 5V operating voltage, this is a 230V toy - you should do it properly. Especially when it is meant for outdoor. Sure, it is okay to show the idea - how to connect it etc, but wouldnt qualify as end version. Secure it a little bit more and it'll be good

The sonoff basic come in 3 versions and 2 Mager revisions currently. Theres the sonoff basic witch is wifi only, the sonoff RF shown in the video that's wifi and RF then theres the Zigbee version that is only Zigbee.

Sonoff 4CH Pro R2 using a RF 433MHZ - 4 реле , wi fi и радиопульт. Но есть модель и поинтереснее чем у sonoff. У sonoff rf есть свои недостатки.
