A walk through on installing a ADF 2" left kit on a 2006 Subaru Forester. The process shown in this video should be similar for all foresters with some alterations. #subaru #liftedsubie #subie #subiegang #forester #liftedsubaru

What's the size of the wheels and tires you're using for the 2" lift on your subie
@KBrosAuto Жыл бұрын
I don't remember the specs, but they were the same overall size as the stock wheels.

Great job. Thanks. I might tackle this now.

Good video. It would look awesome on my 2008 Forester!

Nice!

One of disadvantages of doing that is that axle shafts live much less after lifting up. Also for my case service changed stabiliser bars to a bit longer ones.

Do you recommend a spacer to push the wheels out more?

What is the offset on the rims you are using?

Looks great! Thanks for the info. I'm trying to figure out if I need 2 inches or 2.5 inch lift in the rear on my 04 XT before I do it too. I really just want it to look level like yours does. Any opinion on 2 inch vs 2.5 in the rear?
@KBrosAuto2 жыл бұрын
I've seen a lot of people do an extra half inch in the rear, personally I don't think mine needed it. If you do choose to do so or not, I don't think it will hurt anything.

Are you sure it’s not just the self levelling strut which has failed? That system is designed to level the car out when loaded. Might be worth replacing those then adding an equal lift to front and back. Expensive tho, I’m looking at an aftermarket suspension for the rear, but from my research, you need a stiffer spring at the back to compensate for it not being self levelling, and this can compromise the ride quality a lot.

Might be late, but I did 2.5 in the rear so there’s less sag when it’s loaded and it helped out a lot when I carry my bikes and coolers.

Why is this lift kit so expensive? I really don't see the value.
@KBrosAuto Жыл бұрын
Some of these car parts are way too expensive, I think this lift is like $50 more than when I bought it.

How has the lift been so far? Encountered any issues? Looking at doing one to my 05 forester which is also my daily drive. Also how are the geolanders? Also wanted to get those when I do the lift.

Geolanders felt great in snow and slush and have also been great on wet roads, highly recommend. I have had no problems with the lift and it has felt very nice, however I may be looking into some newer sway bar end links soon.

How does yours look so clean after all those years??? Rural area and garaging I guess? Mines '07 and dinged up on the outsider and worn out on the inside. Never been garaged and been off-roading and camping a ton. Great video though. Makes me want yo get it for mine.

I try to keep it clean, but my grandparents took great care of it before me

Think this will be doable for a novice? For reference I was able to replace my brake pads and rotors without much trouble.
@KBrosAuto2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, we only were able to do this off of other youtube videos like this one. My first time doing anything like this

I’d love to give my 19 Forester Touring a 2” lift, but I don’t know who can do it correctly or which one is not going to hurt the safety of my Touring.
@KBrosAuto9 ай бұрын
I would recommend ADF, doing it yourself can be easy or very hard. It all depends on what your run into, with a '19 I assume it should be smooth sailing.

just bought this exact 06 forester! Shes just my daily here in MI, not planning to do any serious off roading. Did you have any problems with your ebrake being too short post-lift or with the exhaust mounts? Lastly, if you could go back would you replace the stock struts? This video is sick!! Thanks
@KBrosAuto Жыл бұрын
I would definitely consider doing struts too, I still am afterwards. Maybe something to give another .5". As far as exhaust mounts, my entire exhaust system is falling apart so I've got a long list there.

what aftermarket struts do u recommend

I haven't looked into struts yet, from what I've heard it's hard to go wrong
