I own a 2005 Mazda 3, so I'm super hyped to see you working on one even though its a generation newer! I totally recommend doing LED head/tail lights and interior lights, it's a fairly inexpensive mod and makes the car feel just a bit more premium while also improving safety and visibility. Beyond that, just do the basics I say; exhaust, intake, injectors, ignition coils, aero. You might be surprised how mean those mazda engines can sound with a good cat-back kit!

You can do exhaust, headers, coils probably aren’t that worth it, you can turbo the 2.5, you can advance the ignition timing in like 5 minutes and costs nothing and that’s worth it, I installed Tein S Tech lowering springs and that was worth the 4 hours and $170 bucks, CorkSport has a bunch of stuff too, CAI is kinda worth it? There is a ton it’s just hard to find really
@Bikklo6 жыл бұрын

4:22 Mostly true, rust in Cali is pretty good but cars from the bay area/ SF are generally pretty rust-prone because of all the salt and moisture in the air (Though not as much as up north with snow).

I dont know what to do the options are endless! Thanks for being a dope inspiration!

My Gf has this car too. Morimoto 2 stroke 2.0s work really well in the stock projector. The highs can be converted to 9011 bulbs for cheap and they are WAY brighter. LED tails look great with a mild tint (50% tint for that light smoked look is what I did). OEM side skirts from the Skyactiv 2012 model are cheap and easy to find. A corksport RSB makes a massive difference in handling. Also a good quality/ well greased poly bushings kit sharpens everything up.

I own a 2005 Mazda 3 sedan. I used to have H&R street coilovers for a year and then replaced them with Raceland Ultimos on for the following - WELL over 7k miles (i lost track), since March this month (yes, I drive a LOT), drove them almost maxed out for majority of those months then completely maxed out for two months and live in horrible street/pothole filled NYC, and drive spirited. - They have held up very well. They don't feel as good (comfort) as the H&Rs because of the shorter shock body and slightly different spring rate and the build quality wasn't just as good, however the Racelands were a GREAT purchase. They have done justice holding ground- to-body while spirited drives and playing cat&mouse (....on closed roads of course ;) and I have not felt like myself or my better half was in danger at ALL with those on. They did not destroy tophats like my H&Rs did (in that year, it's killed 4!). They DID blow faster than the H&Rs but then there's their LIFETIME warranty. Get the top hats and bearings when you purchase them because if those blow, you can get them replaced as well (one tophat mount ring separated). They DO eventually start winding out so once a month I check them to make sure they are all level with the height I prefer (maybe it's because I put antisieze on the threads? IDK.) - If you're taking your car to the track or autocross or some kind of racing where you're especially turning often, or you daily but don't care to check your coilovers or can't do work on your own, get something better. Otherwise, if it's your daily, you drive spirited and you're always tinkering with your car anyway, they are a great INEXPENSIVE option with a good build quality. It's a newish company with no middle man so give them a chance. Shit, don't forget BC Racing started out in [insert country in Asia they are from, I forgot] and worked their way up to where they are now and people don't give them much crap anymore. - TL;DR They held up very well and I have no problem getting them again.
@anthonygonsalves70206 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, and they go pretty damn low. You can always play around with it (taking collars out, etc) to make them go lower. I don't suggest it, but *shrug*. Raceland Ultimos (the one in this video) are much lighter than stock struts+springs, too. For those interested in catbacks, TBH, another inexpensive option that sounds freaking amazing is the SR*S (yes...SR*S lol) cat back. Just note if you have the sedan, you're going to HAVE to extend it...ask me how I Know :)

I just bought a 2012 sedan (2.0l 148bhp, 5 speed stick) two days ago, I don't even have the thing yet! Still, I'm already looking up modding options lol. I don't want to do anything too crazy, but an exhaust might be nice...I'd love to get the power similar to the 2.5, which actually surprised me when I tested it.
