It depends on how much mental and physical load is shared between the two (and it is not something we can put on a weighing scale and ensure it is equally distributed) and how much for that day. Its about 'understanding' and never a rule! Its not something to debate on. Sometimes one partner can take more load and sometimes the other. It is not about fighting for equality. Most of the husbands are tired taking a bigger responsibility and mental load 'although' women may work too.

Is there any data on survival rates from plane crashes for children in a car seat and those not in a car seat? I would imagine it would be close to the same other than the part where different sections of the plane have different survival rates.

You're probably right, but survival safety is not the sole purpose for using a car seat on an airplane.

Infants and toddlers, not in car seats, die from impact trauma during turbulence and rough landings. Everyone else on the plane is usually fine, but the infant or toddler is ripped from their parents arms and slams into the ceiling or some other hard object and dies.

Chances of an injury or fatality on a commercial airline are slim to none. So I wouldn't worry too much.

@@melzerzvlogz6027 you mightnot need to worry but even if not required but since you need it for a rental anyway, the seatbelts do NOT fit toddlers at all and its also something they are used to and comfortable in, why wouldn't you?

Yes, rear facing is needed for infants in aircrafts in case they stop at traffic lights at runway suddenly... or press aircraft breaks mid-air..

I paid $300 for my NextFit and it's FAA approved for flying. Not sure where you are looking when it comes to car seats.
