Nail punch and hammer and holding your breath. Done quite a few and never had a problem. I understood it was only to be worked on from the face side as there is a risk the porcelain could chip… I’d recommend placing the sink into the worktop first, 1 to keep is steady and well supported and 2, removes the chance of knocking out the wrong hole 😮
@MJTiffPlumbingАй бұрын
I know someone who’s done that 🤣🤣

Hi Mark, great vid as always. I fitted one of those ceramic sink units last week, like you... I was quite concerned, after a bit of thought I ended up using a sharp centre punch and just chipped away at it and it took me about ten minutes, run the file around the interior just to get rid of the rough bits. But...yes I agree they are heavy and a bit of a pain, Personally I'm not a fan, I think they are cumbersome and ugly, but another really informative vid. well done mate👍👍

Now I don't know what made me do it , but I lifted it by the Tap ....................and it all just shattered into many pieces !!!! Hi Mark. Funny you're installing one of those sinks as I've just ripped one out'a my kitchen. Was so excited to see one in my "new" home but having to clean it daily wore me down. Hi great vid one thing I would always make the knockout in new sink before taking old sink out, if it does go tits up at least sink still there, I have installed many as here in France most sinks are like that, I normally put a small hole from the underside then us a diamond hole saw (wet) from top, if you use the hole saw from the underside you may put small chips in the sink next to where the tap goes in, but like most really do not like doing it, great finish under sink. One other thing is when I started most kitchen base units where 1000mm as I have got bigger they have got smaller I am working somewhere with 6 kitchen sinks to install (apartments) all with 400mm bases , with dishwashers and sockets for dishwashers under there to

Wow that knockout in that sink needs nerves of steel to do well done, good shout nibbling away at it with a file instead of a hammer thinking would a diamond tipped core bit be any quicker can get them quite cheap from the likes of Amazon as i bought some for hard porcelain tiles probably only get a few cuts out of one before they go blunt guessing you would have to drill from the underside tho so the bit sits in the recess if you know what mean, tidy work on the pipework too under the sink, cheers for the video as always
