Hi Mate, great find and video is well done. My question is, Can the backbone be used alone with an already bought roof rack? I have a Yakima platform but fixed to my standard roof rail mounts utilizing the Yakima brackets that sit on the standard rails. Can the backbone be purchased separately? Great work
@TheInsightDistrict6 ай бұрын
its a universal backbone so i assume there would be something out there. have a look in facebook groups and see if anyone has done anything similar

Hi mate, very good buy on the roof platform. Just wanted to know if you used anything to fill in the roof gutter or left it exposed? And it would of been nice to see the hole Dmax with the platform on from different angles just to see how it looked.
@TheInsightDistrict3 жыл бұрын
i just left them exposed because they are painted and you dont really see them

I do my as well but i use silicon 227 sikaflex from super cheap and do around holes to cover from water. It’s easy and silicon is around $20 . Extra protection.

Hey mate loved the video just wondering if is strong enough to stand on?
@TheInsightDistrict6 ай бұрын
yup, i have stood on mine multple times, but if your planning on standing on it for a period of time, id look at getting a board to lay across the individual rails to distribute the load
@justinbaker76872 жыл бұрын
Is this doable if you have a vehicle without rails, just have the tracks with plastic strips covering them.
@TheInsightDistrict2 жыл бұрын
that depends if there is bolt holes or not

I have installed a similar roof rack but unsure what mount options there are for these as there is nowhere i can see to slide channel nuts ontop? Any ideas
@nino2682 Жыл бұрын
Me to man 😂 I am looking for options. Will see. Some one will come up with something.
@TheInsightDistrict Жыл бұрын
i use a drill/ grinder to widen the channels in a small section to fit in the channel nuts. i didnt have a problem doing this as its a "cheap" roof platform. its easy enough to do, just make the slots a little longer than what the channel nut is, hope this helps
@BTBSean03 жыл бұрын
do you think these could be cut down to fit a super cab?
@davidshannon48543 жыл бұрын
The platform probably can, but the backbone rails might present a problem.

agree with this, you might be able to , but i don't know what the structural integrity would be like
