Brilliant video Becky. Thanks for that. Our awning rail has only one join and it leaks just a bit into the awning. The down side is it is right above the door. Got to get some of that tape to see it solves the problem. 👍👍👍

Right pain when the drip is above the door isn’t it!!! Impressed by the clear gorilla tape so far so fingers crossed for longevity. Bit sticky to get on but that boded well!

Hi Becky. Thats is a strange design but hopefully a great solution. I hope it works. Thanks Phil:)

Cheers Phil. You mean the curved corners forcing the awning rail to be mounted lower? That’s the reason behind vintage Hymers not leaking from their roof joints, same design for decades I think… Of course now it’s being thoroughly tested by the British propensity to use awnings and all our rain ;-)

Im about to put some over our camper sliding door . 2 years later how's it doing, still Stuck.

Yup, still going strong, really impressed :) do take time to really prep though, I think that was the key to success because muck finds a way if the seal isn’t perfect!

Hi Becky! new question (several, indeed :-S)... i've found in internet Fiamma fabricates the gutter in three different lengths (0.75, 3 and 10 m.). I guess you used the longest one, didn't you? quite pricey in Amazon (112€). Do you recommend that lenght instead of 2 x 3m.? how many meters you used for the door's side? Would the unused rest of the gutter be enought/useful on the left hand side of the caravan? thank you!! Regarding the Maypole gutter protector you have installed as well (Maypole MP951), does it worth the money? do you keep it while towing on the road? Thank you!! Pedro

Yes I bought 10m and cut it down to approx 4.3m (maybe 4.5m I didn't measure exactly, I left it a bit longer then trimmed in-situ to fit precisely where I wanted it!) because I didn't want any joins because I thought that was a) more likely to come unstuck and b) wouldn't look as good. I was tempted to use the offcut on the other side purely for symmetry as there's no awning there but I've actually installed some on the rear just above the "bumper" because here in the UK where it rains so often I get a really annoying drip, drip, drip noise even in light rain where drips fall off the handrail & roof onto the top "shelf" of that hard plastic bumper!!! That means I don't quite have enough left to install any symmetrically on the non door side. The side piece is still held in place perfectly in all weathers but the rear piece (which was installed just as carefully but in cooler weather and was from the "inside" of the coil (the 10m was posted coiled up, the video showed me straightening it on the floor/in the sun) so was less straight anyway when stuck on) has started to peel off quite badly so definitely take some time to get it straight before fitting and prepare the surface carefully to give the tape maximum chance of working. I'm going to replace the tape on the rear piece with some 3M VHB. The gutter protectors do seem to be keeping the sides much cleaner so I'm pleased with them and yes I leave them in place whilst towing. Obviously I keep an eye out to make sure they're not moving but the channel seems to be tight enough to contain them perfectly well :)
