At 17:19 you do saw cuts in the concrete, why do you need to do that? Is it for expansion of the concrete? Love your videos, very informative and enjoying to watch.
@DIRT-BOSS4 жыл бұрын
Yes sir it is for expansion
@jkirby59204 жыл бұрын
@@DIRT-BOSS Saw cuts are a used to create control joints in concrete, which help control where cracking occurs due to shrinkage not expansion. The cuts should be made at a predetermined spacing and only after the concrete has obtained sufficient strength but before internal cracking begins. Therefore, the timing of saw cuts is critical.

@@DIRT-BOSS aqua film or con film is great, apply after screeding and it will remove all stickyness of the concrete, and it will help seal up the finish without the need for water. Water just hurts the surface and makes it weak.

I kept wondering why that electrical box was sticking out between the 2 garages? Doesn't look like a brick/stone face, but? Thank you for another. Best to you and the family. Putting down concrete is so easy from my chair.... just smoosh it around with the rake a little bit... time for power tools! It ain’t no thing!!! But, I could use some advice... why? Every time I put down concrete and I’m not in this chair; it comes out wavy and I find myself chewing Advil and slathering on Sportscreme for two days afterward? Could it be that my chair is better at concrete work than I am? This was a most excellent how-to video... Brandon sent me here and I’m gonna thank him. You have a new subscriber.

FYI, you don't actually want your concrete to dry quickly. instead of blowing air across it, you should be covering it to trap moisture. though, I guess if it is over-built, then the customer may get half-strength concrete but they'll be able to use it sooner.

Is fiber reinforced better for garage floors than a rebar reinforced?
@DIRT-BOSS4 жыл бұрын
Its a substitute for wire mesh, rebar is stronger but way more expensive. For a typical garage its fine but if your looking for bulletproof use wire mesh and fiber mixed together

You theory of concrete is conflicting. You cast concrete with fiber reinforcement -- but then you scored it also. By scoring it you seem to believe that the concrete will shrink and inevitably crack, but you have no rebar to prevent the slabs from shifting. The fiber isn't going to be able to prevent those shifts. Why do you believe this is the right way to do things?
@DIRT-BOSS4 жыл бұрын
First of all I'm not an engineer but the guy that stamps the print is and that's what it says to do That is the industry standard concrete one-on-one!
@jinan00144 жыл бұрын
really BAD....the second truck was 40 minutes late.....could cause a "cold joint" and crack later.....maybe in a few years...or less....hate that ....when the trucks don't come in a timely manner. I am sure you did the BEST that could be done...but, no excuse for those trucks to be that late from each other.....!!!!
