Installing a Goldstrike LED Trunk Light on 2018+ Goldwing

I bought the same light at the last Wing Ding in Nashville. I brought it home and decided to install it myself. Googled the installation and found your video. I've just installed a Goldstrike trunk light but I couldn't have without your excellent tips - especially how to route the wire from the hinge area to under the seat, which is not mentioned in the instructions. Thanks for posting; you saved me hours!

Just finished installing my flag. Thanks for taking the time to do the video. Made it quick and simple. Only difference was that my bike has a Pathfinder remote fuse block velcro'd to the top of the fuel tank (under the seat). Made my wiring a snap thanks to Wago "222" connectors. No spicing or crimping for me. I did find that the second piece of 3M tape you put on was totally unnecessary as there's already a pretty good gap between the bracket and the bike in that area (on mine at least) and no possible contact = no 3M tape needed.

Installed Trunk Light & Tourblade last week. Wouldn't have done it without seeing your videos.Only problem I ran into was I have a CB and as such couldn't completely detach trunk lid from bike as I couldn't see the CB Harness Connector. I did have an experienced bike mechanic wire in a Back Off Flasher to the Tourblade. A GREAT addition..Thanks again for the videos.

TJiNY TJiNY: Thanks for the follow up comment. The instructions for the CB install would have shown you where and how the antenna wires were run. How does the back off flasher look? I’m sure it’s bright and very noticeable! How is it having a CB? I wondered if it was something I should consider

Dr. Freddy B. Wilson The Back Off Flasher is set to 5 quick/then steady flash when brakes applied. It does not interfere w turn sig/4 way on Tourblade. I had on on my 07 Wings Spoiler brake light/2 small LEDs I had mounted behind speaker. I highly recommend it as it takes the Tourblade braking to another level.

Great Job Freddy! I Love my Goldstrike rear taillight! I also installed the Electrical Connection running light add on for running lights. I did not install the Ciro rear strip light as my Honda Rack would block its view. Ride Safe! Just watch your lighting so you are not blocking it and the occasional sound quality. The intro was da-bomb too!

TJiNY TJiNY: Congrats you your new Goldwing! I’m sure you’ll like it. That holder in the back comes standard with the Goldwing Tour Airbag since I don’t have that storage area in the front of the bike due to placement of the airbag

Good job Freddy. I'm doing the same task now. The wiring may be a dilemma. I already have a pigtail connectors plugged in under the seat for a isolation fuse block that feeds all the other lights I've installed. Not sure if I can piggyback these into those and basically double up under the seat with splice connectors. Its getting crowded under there. Thanks for posting this video.

@@jphenderson1084 I made it all fit. I believe I doubled the connections piggy back, and pushed them under the rear part under the seat. Haven't had to take my seat off since.

ostbob: No, I haven’t looked for one. I’m personally don’t use modulators. Good luck finding one.

Hi Dr. Freddy! I have already installed the Honda Chrome Trunk Rack with the Brake light and also the Goldstrike Led Trunk Light including the Trunk Sub-Harness. Now I wants to install the Honda Led Trunk Light for inside the trunk, do I still need additional Trunk Sub-Harness? Your reply will be greatly appreciate, Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to video the install. Would suggest you try to do a better job with the lighting, audio and camera positions next time. Also I would have preferred if you had taken more time and shown more detail of the final assembly, especially the wiring.
