Just so you know, these are pointless because any thief will immediately find it connected to the battery and dump it. You're better of with an Airtag £25 no subscription and it's battery 1-2 year life so you can hide it anywhere in the vehicle they're incredibly small and not gps based so jammers will not block it. It only needs one iOS device to walk near it and you'll find it, and as it's BLE it wouldn't be jammed. They're not as instant as GPS but a lot more reliable. Our van recently got stolen in Hampshire and found it in the New forest through an airtag

An AirTag will let you or anyone deactivate it

@@B7TMY not true. You can deactivate it but anyone else cannot do so. They can only remotely sound it if an iOS device has been in range for more than 30 hours, but you remove the speaker from the Airtag rendering that sound option useless. Deactivation outside owner is only possible by resetting it but you'll need to find it first physically to remove the battery

@@hydraflyerThat’s not true. People were using these to stalk girls - like hiding them in their pocket or whatever. So the person will now get an alert saying there is an unknown AirTag following them. They can then make the AirTag make a sound (so they can find it) or they can deactivate it in find my friend. If what you were saying is true then people could be easily stalked.

@@isyt1 Sound is not possible as you can remove the speaker from the air tag rendering the function useless and deactivation isn't possible unless you have it's apple id

@@isyt1 also I assume you're special but if you look into Find my Friends's deactivate Airtag option it only advises that you need to physically open the battery cover and remove the battery. You cannot remotely disable it without finding it first, which if you found it you'll throw it away in the first place

Is there not a permanent live inside the car that you could wire this to? Just a bit less inconspicuous if its connected to say the back of the cig lighter (if its always live like mine is on my mk4 golf)

need a key to open the bonnet heard of a grinder ? open it discount it and tracker gone, best hide it in the dash loom then on a battery

I take it the tracker was wired up to the battery for demonstration purposes cos i personally think it would be safer to wire it completely out of sight within the car cos if you happen to be miles away from your car a chancer could quite easily rip it out and by the time you get to where your car is it could be long gone. Making it harder to find the tracker will make it just that bit more secure

All these trackers with issues I’m thinking Iv got a old iphone I can wire a charging usb port inside the dash or somewhere obscure an get a pay an go sim with data and use find my phone from my phone will pin point anywhere just occasionally checking for updates on the phone don’t think it can be blocked that’s what I’m thinking it’s kinda a bodge but it’s just seems more effective and cheaper than a subscription

C'mn Tommy you title the video "Hidden Tracker" but you stick it onto top of the battery lol. I have a similar tracker connect to a permanent 12v feed (not direct to the battery and it's very well hidden. Like you say the alerts are good to have and can be switched on/off via the app, ignition on, movement, tow, power disconnection, vibrate, over speed, custom speed, geo fence etc etc but for security take an hour or so to hide the damn tracker :)

I have a ST might look to getting one of these, I’m guessing you have to pay monthly for it? Also does it drain the battery?

Atleast the alert sound is loud enough 😊 also havent heard of any mk8 fiestas being stolen as of yet but may get myself one of these 😁 as cant be too sure without them :)
