I use a window AC unit in my semi truck. I leave the passengers window down and sit the unit in the window. I built a template for the ACunit to sit on. I didn't modify anything on the truck to retrofit it in the window. The window glass is rolled down. It takes about seven minutes to set the AC in the window. I do this instead of idling my truck then in winter I use portable electric heater.

What do you use to power your AC?
@ronnieterry92752 жыл бұрын
@@jesusmoreno3465 I use the Honda generator.. it's small enough to move in and out of the truck. It has a suitcase type handle on top of it. Each time I set it up I run a cable around the handle and lock it to prevent it from being moved. I have used the same generator and small window ac unit for five plus years and both have been trouble free. I also use a small ac powered fan to move air around in the cab of the truck. It holds about a gallon of gasoline and will run the generator for about nine hours.

Hey bro I’m that a/c unit I’d drill a small hole right there in the floor big enough for a hose to go out because that plastic container is going to make a mess going down the road water will be everywhere plus you’ll have to keep moving the unit to dump the water from the container o and yea you definitely got a air leak that’s why the truck be making that bumping sound and it feels like that because the air bags are going down.

Drain the air-conditioned to the outside and be done with it. I will say this again. If you do a lithium battery install large enough to run your electrical, including the air at night, and even heat for winter, you can charge it off your alternator system while driving. That way no generator would be needed and your truck battery/s would last much longer. By the way out of date video.

That thing will work a lot better if you get a second hose and bring the outside air in pass it across the cooling fence and out through the second hose Right now it's pulling outside air in so warm air into the cabin cooling it down and using that air and pushing it outside through that hose
@jasonpaff73412 жыл бұрын
How would you add a 2nd hose
@eby61142 жыл бұрын
@@jasonpaff7341 there's 4 things going on in a unit. Air coming in getting cooled and blowing out. The other two are hot air going out but also air from the room is being drawn out to blow across the radiator to cool the exhaust cooling. That air is being drawn from outside to inside then exhausted. Find the exhaust intake. Add a hose to it by doing a little bit of box building and use the hose probably 6 to 8 inches to pull air in straight to the ac then it will heat it up and exhaust it thru the original exhaust. This keeps the travel limited to the ac instead of outside air warming the room to get to the ac to be exhausted.

How are you powering yours, I'm sorry if I missed it in the video, but by the end of the video you are all bundled up and wearing winter clothes, so I'm not sure what's going on LOL.... But how are you powering it? Are you using an inverter or a generator?... I have a 3000 watt generator hard wired in, and I think most of those portable AC units use less than a thousand Watts. Are you using an inverter? And running it all night without starting the truck? batteries still up in the morning?

Yea trains are truckings biggest competitor. Ole Bernie Sanders said once during a run for the presidency that he wanted to put freight back on trains and get rid of over the road trucking. I guess he gave up on that idea because I havent heard him say it in a while? Theres several companies who require you to be full of fuel before they load you? Some require at least a half tank? Breweries immediately come to mind. Ive been told by several that it makes it easier for them to load your truck, without overloading it. Really it makes sense. If you go into a plant that loads heavy loads, and you are about empty on fuel, time they load you legal according to their scale, youre going to be overweight after you fuel? Which will cost both you and them money and time trying to straighten it out? Also saves a lot of bickering back and forth about whos fault it is? Course D.O.T. will tell you, they dont go by nobodys scale but their own. You'll also run across some who do not have their own scale, that will require you to go by a truckstop and get an empty weight before coming to the plant. Usually the broker will tell you if thats the case but if they dont, you may have to go find an empty weight before they will load you?

Rob. Take your binders and hook them into your chains ? You can put one binder to one chain or put several binders on one chain ? Now you can get some spring Cleaves or use wire or zip ties just for security on the binders if you wish . But it would free up room for more chains in the rack ? You can also do the same with chains ! Just hook them into a hanging chain, then for security use a price of stainless steel wire at a link... Really I have told yu this before !!! Good luck. Question ? Why tarp every load ? Those scaffolding didn't need tarps. Why spend the time and loose money ? If their not paying you for the extra work why do it for free ? Time is money !!! Also speed up on your videos. Also why not say what their.paying you ? You did when you started the show so what's the difference ? Most everyone else tells their pay !. Please advise Randy
