How do you know you haven’t over heated the glue? I had one done like this, and the tip popped off while shooting. You could see there was glue issue. This was with a Predator and the pad popped off with tip.

You must first use the right glue. if you use the right glue your problem will be solved . here i use okong c -501 glue . You will need to wait 5 minutes or you can follow my video tutorial : kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaeaqYWEaax7rbs

You would have to get really really hot to damaged the glue. You would probably destroy the ferrule first. Proper preparation of the contact surfaces is very important.
