The previous owner of my 330i put a Bluebus Bluetooth receiver on the Harmon Kardon amp in the back. That worked great for $200.

You know, all those bosch/Siemens etc. Parts that just don't have the BMW stamp on it, yet are 100% equal in make and quality? Do not buy "brand" stuff, find the part number, go look at the factory/brand that made them, then buy that part as off brand from the same manufacturer for easily ½ price if not even less. Branded stuff is just marketing, don't fall for it.

The problem is it looks just like any other $200 chinese unit. If the headunit looked more like the original with physical buttons and correct screen aspect ratio, it would be an amazing product

Good idea but the price is somewhat high? if you compare it to the Xtrons IX8246BHL (400 bucks). also I paired it with the Resler USB I-BUS Modul (80 Bucks) for additional features like Coming Home Light option etc.

If you guys have a chance to adapt the wiring for this kit during production, can i suggest that you add a smaller disconnect around the kick panel area? maybe like a simple molex connector so that you dont have to try and fish a huge quadlock into the radio cavity.

It would be interesting to see if he could somehow mount it into the dash and similar to the new cars, add volume knob and favorite buttons. Only thing is though, I don’t want perm changes, haha.

You might want to use coaxial microphone cable for the microphone. Or else you will get background noise on the microphone.
