Thanks for this video. I've been a FAN of and installed/used several of these gauges for 20+ years. I have a problem I cannot figure out with one gauge recently purchased for my church orchestra. When the pedal heel on the 26" Ludwig classic copper kettle is pushed to the floor all the way, the sliding block inside the gauge reaches the left end before the pedal heel bottoms out. That has caused the cable to pull out of the sliding block. I double checked my installation (using this video) and cannot spot anything that's wrong. Any ideas how to prevent the sliding block from hitting the left end cable and separating from the moving cable before the pedal heel is fully down? Are the gauges different sizes for a 26" and 29" Ludwig classic copper shell? If so, I may have installed the 2 recently purchased gauges on the wrong timpani size. Thanks for making these terrific gauges which are so much better than the alternatives.

Hi Doug, Thanks for your message. We are very sorry for the delay of this response - we missed it originally. There is a fix for the cable block bottoming out. The outer sheath of the cable needs to be pulled out at the gauge side, and stripped down and cut 1/8" or so back. This will give you that extra distance. Sometimes lengths do need to be adjusted. Also regarding the sizes all the gauges have the same wire/rope distance. Please feel free to call us if this does not fix your issue. 973-882-8122. Thanks, FM
