Installing a RASP-FREE Honda Exhaust! | RSX Type-S Yonaka Catback

In today's video, we are BACK to modifying the Acura RSX Type-S! Installing (in my opinion) the BEST sounding Honda exhaust on the market. The Yonaka Catback exhaust has the perfect look and sound for an OEM+ build. Because not every Honda has to sound like a lawn mower. Enjoy!
FINALLY, I can't believe I made it almost a full year on a stock exhaust lol! Today, Jimmy joins me for a highly anticipated exhaust install on my Acura RSX Type S. Long term fans may have guessed my exhaust of choice would be a Yonaka Motorsports! After all, this is one of the best sounding Honda Civic exhausts, and it crosses over perfectly to the RSX. I wanted an exhaust system that wouldn't overpower the beautiful K series VTEC Crossover, and this was the perfect choice.
The DIY exhaust install was surprisingly easy compared to a crusty 90's Honda. A total of 5 bolts and 3 exhaust hangers and the stock system was out. The new system went in without a struggle and WOW! The camera doesn't do the low tone much justice. There is a prominent bass tone to the exhaust that can really only be heard in person. In the upper RPM's the exhaust opens up for a nice mid-low tone. As much as people like to compare Honda exhaust systems, 90% of them still sound raspy. So if you're a person that enjoys fine budget wine, you'll love the Yonaka.

I’m an all American V8 fanboy through and through but there is just something about these aesthetically pleasing imports that almost make me envious of their owners. The RSX Type S and the Integra Type R are two of my favorite designs when it comes to imports. I have owned 3 domestic muscle cars and they were fun but there is really something to be said about a lightweight and fuel efficient 4 cylinder car than sounds as good as this. I recently purchased a 98 ek hatch for a fuel efficient daily driver despite it’s lack of power since its bone stock it is still fun to drive and throw around a tight corner with nothing more than adjustable coilover suspension. These things feel like go karts.

I went from an 03 Miata to a 15 5.0 mustang. I have so much love for both because you can’t compare them. Imports are light and agile in corners, where’s muscle bites just as much as it barks. Such fantastic differences

@@justingallagher4864 I think there was a misunderstanding, i meant as in a good way. I think correctly modified cars in an OEM style is great and it especially looks good on a Honda since they never give us the good ones. The DC5 and EP3 are 2 of the most under-rated Hondas ever made.

I like it! It's not too loud, or super raspy. Sounds just right especially with VTEC, and it's exactly what I would want in a Honda aside from one exhaust I saw on a CRX once, but it brings to me the best sound in a JDM car.

Great video man! Very nice exhaust sound, not obnoxious. It's good, it's mature. I often say it's very easy to make a Honda sound bad with poorly tuned exhausts. Finding ones tuned to eliminate drone and certain NVH, but still sound good is a lot harder. I have done similar with my S2k. It's well tuned and has a nice deep sound to it, no rasp. Amazing under VTEC. Your RSX-S is clean dude, I wish I would've got one when they were cheaper. They've aged well and look great still.

Had a Yonaka exhaust on my 02 RSX Type-S. Really good exhaust if you want something quiet, but only if you have stock headers. Would not recommend with aftermarket race headers because it will rasp and sound "ricey". Swapped it out with an HKS Hi-Power to match my Skunk2 Alpha headers.

I don’t think the rasp will come from the headers, but more so if you run a test pipe and remove the cat. IMO

I had this on my rsx-s. I would recommend welding in a different resonator to get rip of the really loud exhaust drone when driving freeway speeds. I installed a Vibrant UltraQuiet and it got rid of around 95% of all drone on the freeway

Very nice sounding car. Personally I went with the Flowmaster 40 series delta flow 2.5" for my B16 CRX. Nice deep on the bottom end driving. Perfect OG Ricer rasp when rapping out the VTec. I used to hate the cars with the rasp. Now it's just a sound of a cool era of Hondas. Update: Flow master got bumped and probably broke a weld. Became tinny and annoying. Not the mufflers fault. Anyway just ordered the Yonaka catback. I rock with the OEM Plus sound of these tuned systems.

Great video and nice install! I love the car! To really top off your car you should look for the JDM “Integra” and “type r” emblems to complement the red H emblem. It replaces the USDM rsx type s over the pass taillight and the “integra” goes over the driver side taillight.
