Trevor and Mike before you start acting all high and mighty go to 9:545, he most certainly does say he invented to tables with resin in them. Which is not true
@bassman87
@bassman87 4 жыл бұрын
@@kaceycarter2972 you know the english language is full of nuance and implied meaning. Sure, if you take the one sentence and only use that he said he invented it, but when you combine it with the rest of the facts in the video you realise that "this technique" is the act of using their unique bubble free resin formula in a table. So if you want to take a sentence out of context, sure he absolutely said he invented the technique of putting resin in tables. But if you want to use the full context then no, he didnt say he invented resin tables. I tend to lean towards the latter. as this video has the full context rather than just the single sentence the peanut gallery latched on to.

I'll probably end up asking this elsewhere (like a direct message), but assuming those are insert nuts right in the resin, can I guess that you don't just drill an appropriate sized hole and let the insert nuts self-tap the way you would with a hole in wood? Are you pre-tapping the resin holes to ensure a perfect fit with the insert nuts?

It was our video with over 120M views that sparked the hundreds of companies to go and try this. You will not find any videos online of thick pours before this, everyone was pouring epoxy in thin layers. facebook.com/mymodernmet/videos/10156042119459299?vh=e&sfns=mo You can even go to google trends (trends.google.com/trends/?geo=US) and look at the analytics for search terms like resin and river table. You will see a huge spike in number of searches directly correlating with the time we released that video. At the time when I did this pour, I was completely misusing Ecopoxy’s product as it was developed to pour large plastic panels, not be combined with wood. After that video went viral, we worked with ecopoxy to release the first ever thick pour resin specifically designed to be used in woodworking. Since then we have developed our own product that specifically suits our needs. I never said we were the first company to put resin in a table, but we are the company that developed the techniques used today for thick pours combined with wood. Have a great day 👍

That is when the resin furniture trend started. Before that video there was nobody producing resin tables like this, the only thing before that was similar was glass inlays. We take great pride in being the first to produce this type of furniture 😁

Not trying to be a jerk or anything...but when you are telling customers/clients and potential buyers that you are the originators of this style/technique, you are doing a major disservice to the actual artists that paved the way for you. It's false advertising and sounds like trying to capitalize on others hard work. As an artist myself, hearing comments like that really get to me (which is why I'm posting here). Other than that...you are obviously doing a great job at creating these objects.

9:46 "invented this technique, like we came up with the resin in the tables" I don't understand how you can push such bold statement when it is so clearly NOT true. This technique has always been around just not as much as the last few years. Eventually it will become saturated like most trends.

We did come up with the technique of thick single pours, we developed a system that allowed us to pour large volumes like this. Prior to this epoxy would have to be poured in layers to create this effect. We did also in fact come up with the resin in our tables, it is our Black Forest Deep Resin. Specifically formulated for this type of table. It was our video going viral that started this whole trend a few years back, we got over 140M views!

@@BlackForestWoodCo How can you claim to have come up with the technique for thick single pours? Where is your evidence? My evidence is that I've seen furniture made in person with deep single pours over here in Spain. There is a huge market for tables, beds, wall frames here using resin. I don't doubt you came up with your own resin as it's not hard to do (hence the above example) Furthermore this trend has been around a lot longer than you think. Could you share the 140M video please?

Becuase when we started doing them there was no such product on the market that was designed to be combined with wood. The first time we did it we actually misused a product that was designed for pouring solid epoxy panels. After we did the pour, the video went viral, and in response the manufacturer of that epoxy released the first ever thick casting epoxy for woodworking.
