I have an S7, which has the same casing as the M4. In practice, this casing design cannot provide sufficient cooling for the heat generated by the S7, leading to throttling and latency issues. Earlier firmware versions even caused it to overheat and crash. To solve the cooling problem, I removed the top cover and added a 4cm fan.

Can I ask why does it need a cooling fan? What are its benefits? Planning to put one on my M4 Router. Thanks!
