FYI, Sarah...I'm pretty sure that most of your subscribers, including myself, watch your content because of your attention to detail. It's what makes you stand out from other car/truck build KZbin. Other then the fact that we are automotive nerds, your attention to every detail make your content extremely relatable. Thank you so much for being you. I'm just speaking my truth.

Add enclosed acoustic speaker baffles to backside of rear speakers or at least close off the two rectangular openings in rear deck to get isolation for proper bass sounds. As it is, the sound from the backside of speakers will partially cancel out sound from the front side as they are 180 degrees out of phase (front vs back). Easy to do and is the right way to do it. Amazon $15.

Closing of the cut-outs in the fiber-board might work, one would have to try and measure it to quantify the real difference at the listening position (i. e. Driver seat). But mounting a closed-box enclosure on the rear driver might not bring the intended effect, as car-audio drivers are designed as open-/infinite-baffle speakers (Not talking about subwoofers here). The manufacturer intended them for door frames and such where they already assume that your enclosure is rather large. Closing them of might well hurt the driver performance, due to overdamping. This would also have to be tested and measured to get a grip on what really works.

I had to use my hot stapler the other day for exactly the same reason as Sarah here (though I'M the one who broke the plastic). It is such a great invention. I saw a really old KZbin video of the original hot stapler at a convention, and it cost hundreds of dollars. Today you can get one for like ten bucks.

Sarah, please do your ears a favor by closing the two oval holes that you have between your two rear speakers plus any other holes that would let air pass from the trunk into the passenger compartment. The trunk is meant to act as a sealed box for the rear speakers. If you have huge holes in it you will loose pretty much all of your bass. Love the vids, take care!

This car is amazing! That period boost controller is nuts and super rare these days. They used the same ones on factory Porsche race cars like the 934 and 924 Carrera GTR and even Greddy licensed the design for Japanese use. Retro sport sells new ones for $1500! Also one nit to pick, Abt is a name not an abbreviation so it's pronounced AB-tuh not A-B-T.

I'm remembering an Alpine head unit I had, one that I didn't even know existed before going to the shop, a 7380, dual preamp out, with an hltac1 head, it seemed to have better bass output than the replacement after it got stolen. (I know it was a pullout, but that gets old carrying around a deck, so I mounted it in a different sleeve, when it was stolen, they just swiped the whole center console...I still have one alpine cassette deck, a TDA 7537, and after a year with a Blaupunkt, the face fell apart, I got one of the first Kenwood Mp3 decks, with a face you could take with you, or flip it over to show a black metal blank. a KDC-MP8017, still have it, i wore out the cd mechanism, and never thought to get that replaced. I do miss having bass that you can feel way down the road, sold that car in 2007, a 1994 Civic Sedan special edition. ( I remember giving that salesman the business about how it could be so much less than a standard Civic, yet come with factory air...1994 was the last year for 5 speed special editions to come from Japan, they were making the automatic versions here in Ontario...I discovered one thing, when the thermostat stuck open on the coldest winter day, the replacement was heavy, and looked impressive, the old one was thing and simple) Is there a point to all that above? Not sure, but when you started talking about decks, this is what popped into memory...not complaining, it was a nice trip down memory lane.

Yes I had one back in the 80's but mine had the steering wheel on the correct side (the right side). To confirm the Blaupunkt headunit was standard fitment on the UR. I can't find anymore videos on your video list. Why is that? You're one helluva funny girl 👧 and the way you do your tech stuff is 2nd to none. You're beautiful, clever, a car nut.
