That's a really cool conversion kit. Nice setup! Thanks for sharing! I'd enjoy seeing it action.

Thank you, Tony! I can’t wait to use it. I’ll get some printing videos up once I get through my fall trips

I thought about that but I had used up my Last wheel cutting down some bolts and foolishly thought I could saw through by hand faster than I could drive to the store and back.

I definitely will! I’ll wait until I’ve used it for several sessions before posting an update to give it a fair use

Really looking forward to the update video, wondering if you have had the chance to do some contrast test? I’ve hade some problems with leds and the color temp of them and not getting the full contrast range. Filter 5 was actually filter 4,3ish. Tests were made with ilford filters and a step wedge. Maybe buying a kit for my durst 184!

Hoping to have an update video in January. I want to make sure I get to use it a few times and get a feel for it but I will definitely do a test on the contrast range as well and discuss it in the update video. The 184 is a beast, I’m jealous!

Hey Mr. Negative, can you share some of you experience with this conversion? Looking to convert my 139 to 8x10

So far no regrets. I’ll hopefully do an update video shortly but have been renovating my darkroom so unable to print for the past couple of months. Hoping to get an update out in maybe February

hey, wait a minute, doesn't that plug have to fit the TIMER, NOT the wall?, as the control for the head is the Timer!
@MrNegative3 ай бұрын
Yes the enlarger plugs into the timer

@@MrNegative I got confused, the three pin thing you wired up looked like an American socket, whereas the plug I was expecting was a trailer style, or the one you have on the kettle, or power supply to camera battery chargers; so you can't plug it into the mains, as this light setup needs the rectifiers, etc. the timer provides (prevents excess current flow and also in some cases AC to DC conversion as well). the bulbs in these from my understanding are lower wattage, so the mains current blows them, as their filaments are too thin to take the current flow.

@andyvan5692 the plug I wired is three pronged because it’s grounded. My timer is also a three pronged receptacle.

Hi, thanks for sharing. I have the S45 from Durst which is basically a copy of yours. I wonder how you will fit the 240mm lens into this lens turret? I guess the 240mm is much too big to fit into the holes of the actual turret. For me, I can not replace the lens turret with anything else since the red filter post is screwed into the inside of the light chamber.
@MrNegative Жыл бұрын
Great question. It requires a flange/lens mount that extends the rear element of the lens beyond the holes of the turret. You can see one on the 210 I have mounted in the turret now. They’re very hard to find, unfortunately. The other option is of course to mount it to a single lens mount and then swap out the turret any time I want to print 8x10, which is obviously an annoyance.

I would curious to know if the new 8x10 glass negative carrier will produce Newton's rings without an Anti-Newton's rings glass as the top glass. The Kit looks great - happy printing!😊
@MrNegative Жыл бұрын
I asked that same question and was assured by several that have used it (and the seller) it wouldn’t be a problem. I’m still waiting to give it a full Test and will do an update video once I do. Thanks for watching!

@@MrNegative Hi there, did you ever experience problems with Newton's rings so far using the glass negative carrier? Hope to receive my conversion kit in the next days...

how do you like your schneider 240mm lense?
@MrNegative Жыл бұрын
To date I’ve only really used it for 6x17. The largest prints I’ve made in that format are ~8x24” so It’s not a huge enlargement. With that said, I’ve been pleased with the results. Any shortcomings are in my own abilities, not the lens!

it looks like I am in the process of getting my own conversion kit from Klaus. I actually work with 8x10 and will be upgrading a Beseler enlargert@@MrNegative
