Installing an Air Conditioner! | Feeling Cool Under Pressure | Cargo Trailer Conversion | Episode 18

Is this the world's first pivoting air conditioner? Realizing we couldn't add any more weight to the front of our trailer, we had to figure out a way to install a mini-split compressor to the back of the trailer while still allowing the ramp door to open.

Thank you! Our windows have held up great. Initially, we had to reseal our front window, since house windows aren't exactly designed for driving in rain, but hasn't leaked since!

Far simpler to mount compressor on side and have a custom cover made from truck tarp material.

Maybe. We did not want to make the trailer any wider than it already is though.

What exactly did you use for the refrigerant line? Great job. I want to put one in my cargo conversion and this looks like a great placement option. Thanks for sharing

Most of the line is the copper line that came with the unit. The flexible section is teflon lined braided stainless automotive hose.

@@theperpetualadventuremachi4571 I'm thinking of doing something similar, The hose you used, was it pre terminated with AN fittings? if so where did you find the conversion to standard flare fittings. BTW your install is awesome and is a great solution for those of us with a standard length tongue and a fold down cargo door.

It is hardwired into our 120V fusebox.
