You can fasten a tow bar onto the wall of your house, garage etc. and fasten the bike carrier to that. Then you can use the bike carrier to store your bikes on.

Usually most of the manuals tell you what you should not do with whatever the thing is and everybody knows without reading it that you're not supposed to use a bike rack as a flower ladder or something... I took my car for the 2.1 upgrade on thursday. They told me in advance that sometimes it might take two attempts to get the software installed properly. Well, today they called me and told that they still haven't been able to install it and I'll get the car back on monday. Maybe. I'm wondering am I the first ID.3 buyer from that dealer and they are now using my car for learning.

Then good luck with that - I gave mine 10 days ago to my dealer for the update, and they broke it - they had to order a new control unit which will be delivered in 4 weeks! until then the car cannot be used at all

Yes, I've heard about these controller problems too and I would not be at all surprised if that was the case with my car as well. We shall see...

!VW has changed the specification of the accessory hitch. Newly built ID.3 will now be able to carry 75kg instead of 55kg. That is much better for 2 E-Bikes. I have also the 55kg version 🙁

This is fantastic. How does it affect range on the ID3 with 1 or even 2 bikes. Drag is a big issue with EVs so this is still something I worrie. Cheers

Car efficiency goes from about 4 miles / kWh to around 2.5 miles / KWh at 70mph with 2 bikes. I think the box will be better.

I gater its around 1300 euros just for the attachment, thats the price of a new bike, total rip off unless you really use it most weekends
